I'm fairly new and only play pve for now. But it just looks as if being on the offense is a lot easier than defense. I really dislike the box cube , meta base building. It's ugly, uninspired, schweaty and cookie cutter. But even those get cracked as if handing a raw egg to a toddler. Unfortunately that's what the mechanics of the game drives players towards.

@@SamuraiHonor depends on the base design really , limited entrances are infact harder to defend since enemies can just hold the entrance but with multiple entrances ect you always have an alternative route to flank

I've always felt that either explosives needed to be nerfed, or structures needed to be buffed. Another idea I had was to add stealth structures to the game. These structures don't render until a player is very close to them, and to make easier to do mini bases they could add mini crafting stations. To balance this the stations could be slow, use more resources, and does not allow the use of thralls. As for the stealth stuff. While very hard to find they have very low hp. Meaning that you have to very careful where and how you build your base

I somehow get the feeling of Frankieonpc DayZ series from back in the day out of these Conan playthroughs. Well edited and cozy commentating whats happening. There are the ups and downs, like a good story has. Everything that happens could be scripted like in his vids, but it feels like not. Also I find the best place to hide stuff is in your base. Place ceiling in place of foundation in a nice pattern to make it look like a style choice and place chests under some.

I had that same problem once at a pvp server , i was building up in the volcano when the game decided a perfectly climbable mountain side wasn't actually climbable anymore and i fell at the same time the server took a dump i wasn't able to get back in for like an hour and some , ragequit the game for 3 months after that.
