The flaps are attached and the portfolio is lined which completes the project.
This set of videos was made while I was making about a dozen portfolios in three different sizes. The construction is in order of execution but the models you see in the videos will be different members of the group I made, there are a variety of colors and sizes in the clips.

Thank you for sharing this detailed, clearly explained series. I was beginning to despair of finding a video tutorial to make an art portfolio for my friend, when your video came up. It was absolutely perfect! You don’t see many of this kind of meticulous tutorial on KZbin these days and this series is a true treasure. Thanks again!

Another great series of videos. There are so many steps to make what at first glance seems like such a simple folder. I am sure your customers are pleased with the products.

You do such beautiful work! Some of the techniques you use are simply brilliant. I know that these days you are mostly working with metals... but, I’ve been looking for instructions for assembling and lining a divided insert tray (like your stacking boxes with dividers). Do you have a video you can post or point me in the right direction. The only ones I’ve managed to find on KZbin are of the “throw it together quickly” variety. I want these to be “gift” quality.

I will have to think about that. I have made boxes with dividers and it is complicated covering them where they join whether the dividers are the same height as or are lower than the box walls. It can be easier if the dividers are lower and covered with a different material or fabric. I think you will find it easier to make a smaller box or boxes (with thinner board) that fit snugly into the box so that one side becomes the divider and you can set the smaller box inside the main box; that way it could be taller than the box and be able to hold a top on the box, or be lower so that it can support a shallow tray giving the box a set of covered compartments under the tray of most used objects. It's best if I see a plan and have an idea of what the box is to be used for when completed. When I make boxes for tableware or jewelry, the inside of the box is often filled with a kind of foam rubber 'furniture' which I have cut to fit and covered with loose or pleated velvet. I should probably show my tool box I carried to studios with all my binding tools. I was a simple box with a tray inside that was supported by two ledges in the ends of the main box. The tray had scissors, triangles, folders and olfa knives in it and it lifted out of the box to reveal a deeper space for thread, needle boxes and other less used tools, extra blades and stuff like that. Thanks for watching

You're an excellent teacher! I've watched all your binding and box making videos. Please keep them coming. In this instance, what kind and weight paper did you use for the flaps? Was it the same Stonehenge as for the lining? What weight?

nickalih, in case he has not responded to your questions, you can use any cloth you want for making books. You would need to purchase the cloth you want in addition to heat & bond, as well as rice paper or something like it. Use an iron to stick the heat & bond to the fabric and then the rice paper (think of the fabric and rice paper as the bun and heat & bond as the burger). Now you're ready to measure the exact size for your book. Then glue your boards for the book onto the measured rice paper side. Voiala.

Thank you for your videos. I mostly do book restoration but I have found many of your techniques applicable and very helpful in my craft. I am very intrigued with your board shear! I don't do a lot of new work so a board shear would not earn it's keep in my shop but, it woks amazingly well! Also, have you found a source of glue rollers with the square handle rather than the new "ergonomic" handle. Thanks again! Joe Knight

really good videos and I am really impressed. I would like to know what other materials I can use instead of Bookbinders bookcloth. I live in a small island in the caribbean and we really don't get that kind of stuff here? What would you recommend that I use? Regular fabric? and if so, what kind of fabrics are best and how must I prepare them? I really hope you can help with this
