since DAY ONE, i've always said that Cersei and Sansa have so so so many things in common they could literally transform into the same person, hopefully Sansa can learn from Cersei's mistakes and change that, either way i love them both so much! they're my favorite and the most complex female characters ever

sansa has tried to learn from everyone. it's just that she's spent more time with cersei than anyone else.

The difference is their family. Sansa had a loving father and mother. Cersei's mother died, and her father used her always as a tool. So Sansa are able to love, while Cersei only love herself (and Jaime but that's the same)

When I watch this show I try to see these characters through the eyes of GRRM. He said none of his characters are purely good or evil, they just had their own reasons for being what they are. Cersei is the main (human) villain of the show at the moment, but she actually is the most tragic of the characters. She had her heart broken one few many times, Rhaegar, Robert... she had feelings for them yet her dreams were always crushed. And always by other men. This is why she was always highly suspicious of the intentions of those who abruptly entered their lives (Margaery for example). She buried four of her children, and she always felt betrayed by her brothers. Which was partially true. This is why she is like this now. She is basically empty and all she has is the drive for revenge. Sansa on the other hand was learning from all she's been trough. That's why she has alot of insight when it comes to politics but also nature of other people. She learned from Cersei, from Tyrion, Catelyn, Littlefinger but also from situations like to be obedient to Joffrey so she doesn't get beaten, and then again from Ramsay (she literally learned how he thinks). However, she still kept her heart soft. Development of her intelligence didn't come at expense of her feelings, like in Cersei's case. I think if she were to team up with...let's say Tyrion those two would be political force to be reckoned with.

I agree with you. But Cersei can only think for herself, she could team up with sansa if that were the only chance to save her own life. Which I don't think likely to happen. That's the main differencde btw them, Cersei lacks compassion and is completely selfish and megalomanic by now. Sansa managed to keep her goodness

I can't wait for these two to face each other again. I think it'll be Sansa who will be Cersei's downfall because she's been a victim of her cruelty and she's learned from it. She's the only one out of the Starks who truly knows what Cersei is like.
