Read a lot of recommended books on this topic and also watched a lot of videos.. This one has stuck with me for its simplicity and how well you explain the protocol.. Using some cisco white papers to lab this up in EVE-NG and referring back to this video gave me my "Aha" moment... Great stuff on the channel keep it up.

This might be old video but it really helped me understand what is OSPF... thank you.. I hope whatever names you mentioned are actual words used in real time. I watched the next vid as well.. multi area and its really good. I didnt understand EIGRP though... ill skip it for now. I was checking for BGP but i dont see that vid anywhere :/

I wanted to get overview, watching couple of times would make me understand and need to compare with OSPF, then i can get better idea. However, since I dont have hands-on(as im learning using my imagination from watching videos and docs), its little hard to get those stuff. I am waiting for for the BGP vid though~ tnx for vid.. not just the explanation but the presentation is also good~ I could only be able to give the explanation without that such good presentation

Newbie question: is link speed the best way to determine cost? What if a particular link is already carrying heavy traffic? In that case another route might be slower in an absolute sense, but if not congested would be the best route at that particular time. Maybe something like dynamic cost is required, based on the flow of traffic through the link.
