Cervical cancer India में जो होता है वह 80-90% HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) की वजह से होता है। यह एक Sexually transmitted virus है जो Body में Enter करता है। Risk factors दो भागों में divide होंगे: HPV related और Non-HPV related।

India में इसका emphasis बहुत ही कम है क्यों की हमारे यहाँ सारे Cancers का detection Later Stage में ही करते है। Screening को हमारे यहाँ इतनी Importance नहीं दी जाती है। WHO recommend करता है की Screening program 30 से 65 सालों की औरतों में होनी चाहिए। Screening के लिए दो चीज़े Most Important है।

ज्यादातर Cervical cancers HPV की वजह से होते है। इन्हे रोकने के लिए Females को vaccinate करना जरुरी है। HPV दो प्रकार के होते है: Gardasil और Cervarix। दो groups में Immunization करते है। HPV Males और Females दोनों को affect करता है।
