Amazing speakers for the price...easily complete with speakers 2x to 4x the price.....their very natural sounding, neutral with a touch of warmth and character...easy details on the highs never harsh...great off axis and imaging. I will try to do a jazz demo. Not EQ'd ...I was bumping them up on the club music here pushing them for that sort of music...but I like jazz also and they are exceptionally good with all music. Natural voices.

They sound better than the SL series. I just spent a lot of money for speakers I only used for a week. I was getting no more midrange at all no matter what I did. I bought a Marantz Cinema 50 so I didn’t have much left for speakers. Thank goodness I hadn’t got rid of my Klipsch towers.

The LA series is great. .....tge sl are hit and miss....the sl12 is ok...the little bookshelf and centers are ok....the rest kinda suck....xls15 xls28 and xls6 and the center are good.

@@StrangeBrewReviews I bought the SL-28’s, SL-5M and the matching center. The SL-28’s suck. There’s no midrange at all. I had to run all channels just to even it out when I listened to music. lol In 2 channel mode playing music a few songs sounded great but most of them sounded bad.

Crisp sounding! That track seemed to suit the LAs nicely! Impressive! Did you know CerwinVega! is coming out with another new series called the LSD series? I have the specification sheets on them. As far as I know no production run has been started yet.

I've heard about it. Will be cool to see. I imagine the SL series will go to the way side...but maybe the XLS will get a remake and update.

@@StrangeBrewReviews the problem is the new LSD will still be a narrow baffle speaker. Unfortunately they haven’t designed a new 12” and 15” 3 way yet that I know off. I really hope they do make a higher quality modern take on an old school 3 way. Something with a better build quality than the SL Series

​@@JR-ho5qm the SL and XLS just need a update and or face lift, some new crossovers. new styling...the components are good still , just needs a update and cosmetics...I think they will be combined into a single inbetween type line. but will be better than both as of now.

@@StrangeBrewReviews yes I agree! It would be good to see a cast aluminum basket in the SL Series but I’m not sure how much that really matters. Magnetic grills are a must. I would love to see real wood veneer but I know it’s expensive and most wouldn’t pay for it. Maybe as a option?

@JR-ho5qm no one's paying for real wood veneer on a giant pair of 15 inch Vegas no matter how good they are...the wrap on the LA is good. If they can do 25% better than that...it's good enough....I'd like to see Blue cones again.. 😀

Do you think an AVR, Marantz, rated at 80 watts per channel can handle this BS beast?

I think 80wpc on a marantz should be fine. Their rated 90db sensitivity but maybe more like 88db..I have them on a strong 120wpc TEAC hypexNcore power amplifier here in video..its a perfect BS amp.thats needed for the ELACs i have..I ordered one of the ayima pro7 max to power them , but not here yet...65wpc is the absolute lowest I'd go on these if it's a strong amp like the audiolab 6000.

Dang it you guys - stop adjusting the curve for sound demos. We need to see and hear the native response and curve with the ohms rating given. This is a useless demo. How does it perform with female voices, rock, various music? Is it so hot up top that it sounds sibilant or metallic? Oh and lets not forget metal, death metal and prog-metal. Every time I have heard someone say a speaker was "fun" it means it sounds like crap without adjustment. Is that what you are saying here? Then say it.

@Carl-bd1rf these are nothing like old Vegas...there a much better match than klipsch for amps like Fosi or Aiyema...klipsch I still like but for tube amps...these speakers are fantastic more like polk than old vega....
