Great video coverage of CES. I'm the opposite of you. Have a Steam Deck (love the OS) and got a Legion Go. The screen of the Legion Go has convinced me that my minimum screen size moving forward will be 8". Looking forward to the 8.8" Legion Go 2.

We really need AMD to step back up to the plate with another APU that's built around low wattage specifically. I'm also in the camp that we need small form factor handhelds rather than continuing to go even bigger. It's why I'm excited for the m-con controller. The ultimate device for me would be something small running Steam OS that doesn't even have joysticks (or perhaps has small, recessed sticks) that's more suitable for indies and retro games.

On the XG Mobile-them saying “5090” is possibly misleading because the 5090 Mobile is vastly different from the desktop 5090. RTX 5090 Mobile has 10,496 CUDA cores across 84 Streaming Multiprocessors, 24GB of VRAM with a 256-bit bus. Total power is between 95W and 150W based on manufacturers’ designs. 5090 Desktop has 21,760 CUDA cores across 170 Streaming Multiprocessors, 32GB of VRAM with a 512-bit bus. Total power is 575W. So the 5090 Mobile is a little less than half of a 5090 Desktop in terms of core count and memory bus width, 3/4 of the desktop version in terms of memory size, and draws 1/6-1/4th as much power.

Been playing Freedom Wars Remastered on the GPD WIN MINI at a steady 60FPS with absolutely no dips in performance at highest settings, and its also only 11GBs in size

@itswavelengths The remaster is so great, never been into Monster Hunter personally but something with Freedom Wars really clicked with me and the remaster is just more of that with mildly less luck based stats for weapons due to the reworked upgrading system

For me, the most exciting prospect of SteamOS is a new, powerful home console with a seamless UI and a setup that works straight out of the box. Switch is a perfect handheld experience for me, but a Switch 2 for handheld, complemented with a powerhouse Steambox for tv play would be the dream. Ps and Xbox consoles feel surplus to my needs at this point.

just a fair warning from somebody whos been administering desktops and laptops for years if your dual booting windows and linux eventually windows will eat the boot sector of your linux partition via the bios
