What a great country the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is!!! No other country offers the "regular joe or jane" the freedom to fly their own plane like this, affordably and with very little hassle and restrictions. How blessed a person should be to live in such a wonderful place! God Bless the USA and all it offers to its people!! And I do have a soft spot for the "150 series". Did my Primary training and a lot of subsequent cross countries, in a 152 out in Davis, California. Even though a good chunk of my recent post PPL time and Instrument and Commercial were done in a 172, I still get the urge to fly the "flying lawnmower." They are so nimble and fun!

Well i dunno about cheap. A used Cessna 150 would range from $30,000 to 75,000. The cost of a private pilots license is another $15,000 to $20,000. Insurance costs money as well. And maintenance everything in aviation is expensive. Its not like buying parts at autozone and installing them yourself unfortunately.
@videogameplayer0552 Жыл бұрын
@@zipjay$20,000 for PPL is a ripoff. The actual cost is more like $10,000-$15,000

1969 flew round trip Beverly, Massachusetts to Fullerton, California in a 1947 Stinson Voyager. 300 miles legs and ancient, minimal avionics. A wonderful trip. Repeated the trip the following year in a Cessna 210.... that included coming back through San Francisco and Yellowstone Park. The Stinson trip was quite an adventure for a low time pilot. The 210 trip was fun, but not the challenge of the Stinson. Many coast to coast trips in later years, mostly in a Cessna 310, Delaware to Fullerton in one day with two stops, still waxed nostalgic about the Stinson trip.

Nice airplane, beautiful person, wonderful video! I soloed a C-150 on my 16th birthday in 1964. It was the old straight back style (no "omni-vision"), but they all fly the same...NICE! I put my flying on hold in about 1985 due to the high price of housing in the Los Angeles area, family, and a very satisfying but busy career in aerospace as a mechanical engineer, but now I am retired and have started downsizing my house since all the kids are grown. I am hoping that will put me in position to buy a 150 and get retreaded. Thank you for making these videos. You are really boosting my enthusiasm to get started again!

Fantastic! It reminds me of a trip that I and a friend took in a 150 from Kissimmee to Dallas and back (2000 miles roughly) about 20 years ago. Took off on Friday afternoon and landed back Sunday lunchtime. One of the air traffic controllers, on being asked for a ground speed, told us to lean forward in the seats as we were only managing 75 mph. Great video, I love the "Gross" comments when you think that the landing was not perfect and the loving pats that you give your aircraft. I look forward to seeing the other two videos in the series. Thank you!

That is one nice old 150!! I owned a 1972 150 (N 17291) with a similar paint job, and same wheel pants. I loved that little bird. She’d get off the ground in about 150’. Only problem I ever had with her was starter motor and leaky front strut. Basic instrumentation. It was around 1989 and I’ve since retired and had a heart valve replacement. My first plane was at 150 (now a Mooney M 20J). I had a little over 440 hours logged in that plane and we went everywhere out of Texas all the way to the smoky mountains and to the west coast with my wife and I. No auto pilot and nothing but slow rolling it 5000 feet cross country. As much as I miss those days, I do not miss those days now having a Mooney. 🤣 The 150 will always have a special place in the majority of pilots hearts.

I relish the flying I get to do now in my C441 but I may just go out and rent a few hours in a 150, you piqued my appetite! By the way, your Casper stop brings back memories of flying there from my base in Long Beach, CA in my previous airplane, a Piper Saratoga, to see the total eclipse in August, 2017. I dodged thunderstorms all the way up and all the way back but it was more than worth it.
