Good recovery, Captain Blaz. I share his passion for old school balsa glow planes.Last winter, I restored a Hangar 9 Advance 40 that I have had for over 20 years. I gave it a new engine and it flew just as good as when it was new. This winter, I will restore the first kit that I ever built over 20 years ago. Long live the old school balsa glow planes.

Thats exactly how I remember 2 stroke nitro engines: They create a mess, every thing is greasy, you need to adjust the carburetor prior to every flight, you pamper them until take-off… and as soon as you are airborne, they sound like they are about to die anyway 😂 great video !

Great upload and an exciting flight. I really like that model. The moment I saw the initial crash I thought it had to be a radio problem. When I first taught myself to fly an old-style rc helicopter, I got hold of a sim for my pc, got a basic radio and just set it up for the simulator without reading any instructions or watching any YT videos. Then I just kept flying the sim until I could take-off, tail-in hover and do a few stall-turns and circuits without crashing too often. Much later I bought my TRex 450 and only then did I realise that I had learned to fly with my rudder/tail-rotor channel in reverse. But by this time it was too late to switch because the muscle memory was already set. So I always must try to remember to REVERSE the rudder channel on my heli because unlike “normal” people, I must “fly the tail,” not the nose. But who can remember 100% of the time? Especially as my own equipment keeps on getting older 😂 I guess remembering negative expo’s is just another example 🫡 🫡🫡

There is a list of maneuvers you can put the plane through to determine if the main wing incidence angle and prop angle are correct. I have a similar plane in electric and at full throttle it zooms upward. Very hard to trim her and maintain steady level flight. I wish you guys had done a throttle chop check and see if it dives or rises. You guys have a lot of experience so I’m sure you’ll figure it out. I’d love to see a follow up video with you guys testing this plane to determine what’s wrong with it. Good luck!

Nice job mounting the engine and conversion to glo. I always enjoy your channel. Just some comments on the OS 20FP. The prop you are running is a little large and heavy as it is a composite/plastic prop. These small engines do better when they are able to rev up. Also, when the weather is cold you are better off running a 15% nitro fuel. Are you using an OS#8 plug? Did you mount the KAVAN tank on its side? You may want to extend the nose gear to get a better angle of attack to help on take offs.

Sunday flights with such models are a pleasure because they are so relaxing without being boring - provided the engine is running. OK, this flight with the engine adjustment was regrettable and had a bit of a dying swan feeling to it. 😂 With some expo on the rudder it's easier to keep the model on the track - believe your older brother and learn! 😁 Yes, now we've all become domesticated, low-maintenance and obedient - and our livers aren't as strong as they used to be.

So is glow fuel as expensive were you folks live as it is here in the US? It's been over 20 years since I last flew a glow fuel powered RC plane. Bought a Cemech Pigi3D and never went back I like and miss GWS's little foam airplanes like the Pico Tiger Moth. Indoor Power Systems forever.

Comment number two. Boys! What a wild and woolly video was that. Next time I watch the video before I comment. Lol. Very enjoyable still. Pilot error!

Have we learnt a valuable lesson boys.? Park and stand at the start of the runway so avoid magnetic rc planes lol
