Long hair is mainly genetic - either a cat has long hair or they don't - not something one can change by a vitamin regimen or some such. And hair length varies a lot, and can be seasonal, too. However there are things one can do to enhance the look of a kitty coat - 1stly being the ever popular washing - which is a real hit with the kitties, but is necessary with Persians (and probably Zots too). Combing to avoid matts and general kitty maintenance are also pluses (again, necessities with Persians). Lots of KZbin vids on these subjects.
