Also, tighten these lightbulbs by the base, not the glass. Tightening by the glass will cause microfractures, and a potential failure, like the one featured.

Um, someone should tell these people that they shouldn't have the broken shards in their house as they keep emitting mercury vapor for months. Also that bag they have them in doesnt stop those vapours. They go right through anything but glass. Also, I hope they disposed of the clothes they were wearing when the bulb fragments hit them as they can contaminate their washing machine. See Maine cfl study

the amount of mercury typically in these is so little that it isn’t even visible to the naked eye

LED bulbs are a better, safer option now.

most led bulbs are pretty much just as bad as cfl

@@planeguy737-1Yeah, I learned they hurt us in other ways, they are worse for the eyes. I stocked up on tungsten and halogen lightbulbs, because of this.
