I have been watching several videos of lads participating on this CF moto media launch and is clear to me that the Aussies riders are the most experience ones in terms of off- road skills etc. Pity it was not really a test on on- road conditions as per an adventure motorcycle will demand. Having said that this video is one of my fav since it shows the 450 MT does have certain capabilities for off road, and you perfectly explain its limitations. Over all one always have to understand price/quality/benefits/limitations relation ratio before taking any final decision up to the real type of riding one is desire to perform and its competitors. As many of you have said this motorcycle fills up many of the boxes in a moderate way at a very attractive price. Remains to know mechanical service quality and spare parts availability Thanks for your efforts to bring some clarity about this new adventure 450 MT Greetings from Argentina PLEASE MAKE A COMPARISON: CFMOTO 450 MT VS KTM 390 ADV VS REH 450 ....CHEERS!

The best "western" review so far, thank you. It's an ADV bike, so multiple enduro references are a bit outside of the scope of this bike. Suspension section, you mentioned that the adjustments (especially dampening) were effective. This indicates quality internal components. I would argue that different springs rates would cost next to nothing to install, so the budget statement is not very valid. I am 75 kg 178 cm rider, you look bit bigger.......Budget, actually junk Suspension was delivered by Honda on my Rally 300. I am getting this bike, and I will get Decent Suspension Tubeless rims Adj screen Adj levers Folding mirrors Folding foot controls Metal skid plate (decent enough for now) Nice and now "proven" engine All for very reasonable price.
@defylifeadventure9 ай бұрын
Agreed, no-one remotely interested in the bike has any enduro dreams with it. That being said, Damo is the second journalist that has mentioned its limitations off-road, with Clubby from MAD TV claiming the RE450 is more off road focused.
@pawelwolski13169 ай бұрын
@defylifeadventure The point I was trying to make is more general. Most "big" name channels/journalists bring way too much personal and not a given motorcycle relevant baggage. They start with "competition" or very high-level overall performance as the gold standard. They all love all the gadgets, all the electronics, big power........For adv bike, all these things are negatives in my opinion, reliability is the number one requirement here. There are many physical features that are relevant to the real life performance of a bike. You saw my incomplete list, I know of them because I have been watching lots of other reviews (starting with the Chinese guys). It would have taken 2 min to run down this list, here we got the availability of high and low fender as the big one. The local Philippino guts have some really good vids out, they approach this bike from this real world, average rider perspective.
@advlife9 ай бұрын
The enduro references are very much pertinent to the Australian audience. And my point is that it isn’t an enduro bike so as to dispel any misconceptions brought about by the capacity and marketing. I’m not sure which budget statement isn’t valid? I didn’t say springs would cost much.
@advlife9 ай бұрын
You may be surprised how many Australians want this to be an enduro bike with a big tank - and I have to tell that’s not what it is.
@pawelwolski13169 ай бұрын
@@advlife Ok, cool, your enduro point is valid in this light.....But this is an ADV bike, just from looking at it. It is getting complicated these days to identify what is what.......As for the suspension, you stated multiple times "budget". It is fully adjustable, both front and back, and the adjustments were effective. For your weight, riding skill and requirements simply the spring rates are too soft (hope with heavier springs, there will be enough dampening available). It sure seems to me that this is the most complete (and possibly only, lower displacement, reasonable weight, dirt friendly) ready to ride adv bike. Center stand for me, lower crash bars, real (not plastic deflectors) hand guards, soft bags, done. The internet can get to be a crazy place, not starting "trouble" here, giving you feedback and once again Thank You for a very nice review.

Thoroughly enjoyed it …good balance of legit rider feedback, revealing camera work and irreverent humor! I wasn’t tempted to fast-forward… Yours is I believe, the only reporting I’ve yet seen, during which the time was invested to alter (and document) the suspension settings applied. Great inclusion. Intriguing choice of terrain selected for what would appear to be a more road-biased bike … Maybe dispelling low expectations of its off-road worthiness was the manufacturer’s intent, though. Good job!

Hi Damo. I also asked this on another site:.... "great video. Ive seen a couple of reviews say 450 Him is probably more dirt focussed, than 450mt. Without riding back2back, what is this based on ? Is it purely the chunky, nostalic feel of the 450 Him? ..... from what I can see on paper, the 450mt has more power, better suspension adjustment, and less weight ... can you please explain. Thanks" PS. love the humor and whit :)

Cheers mate. I get asked this a bit but have unfortunetly never ridden a Himalayan. With adjustable suspension already part of the bike, how critical is modifying the springs and valving?
