This is really great to hear. I wanted to ask about responding well to APs, as that is so key and is. I'm fully on board with this approach and am trying to implement it but still find it difficult sometimes to respond well without feeling pressured about if I am responding well enough, whether I am doing the right things during APs and so on, which becomes its own kind of stress. I wondered if you could break down what responding well looked like to you and how it worked in practice, both psychologically and how you would respond physically during APs? Thanks so much and so glad you're doing better!

Same question.. in other videos Miguel says to respond like “it’s just a nervous system”, but to me it’s like why it should be JUST a nervous system, there actually are ns illnesses and it doesn’t seem to be “just”… anyways probably we should care less about the symptoms… and stop fearing them definitely

Accepting the stress about not knowing if you are responding well or not is also big. You can’t control your thoughts (i had the same problem btw but i feel like i’ve come really far in this regard). Everyone kinda knows their base line right? So try to do some things from that base line. If you then experienced a AP, try to do the same routine/ things you did from your base line (or a little bit less). It might still be too much, but you’ll know when that is the case i promise. We can only try, after a while you’ll get the hang of it. Stay strong

The leg work gym session soo reminds me of me! I decided to go all out, then walked uphill on the treadmill for half an hour. I never recovered!! That was 2018. I’m making slow progress now, but I’ve had a lot of set backs. Any way- many thanks for this relatable interview.

In the gym and working hard 7/12. My only thought was I need to go harder to push through this rut. Paying for it now.

This is all fine and good, and I'm happy for you both, but my body isn't properly metabolizing food into energy. When I'm feeling bad, I can barely do anything. When I'm feeling good, my muscles hurt. My body (and jaw) shake all the time. Telling me to be positive isn't very helpful.

There is so much more to it than thinking positive.. I would recommend listening to more videos from Migual or Raelan Agle

All those symptoms are due to a hyper sensitive nervous system

@LydiaNorris Thank you for the reply. I've listened to a lot of them and will listen to more. It's nice feeling less alone, but it isn't helping much during a crash. It seems like these videos are more aimed at further down the road when we're starting to improve.

@@christownsend4920 yeah I get it.. there are many videos that deal with crashes and how to get through.. actually there is one about the difference between a crash and a flare up. Hang in there , everyone thinks they are different but hundreds of healed..

It isnt about being positive tho, it is about modeling safety to the body so the nervous system relaxes and shifts into parasympathetic mode - in which the body can heal and repair. I completely understand you though, I was bedbound with over 25 symptoms, despair was what I was feeling, so dark and hopeless.. These principles work tho, I am now starting part time work again 🎉 Just keep going, you can absolutely do it 🍀
