Well done. 21:06 - That, was SMART, i have learned something, Thank you. I am curious : how much VRAM did it cost? (Blender reports it, ofc its total value of what's your PC is using, so turn off your other applications and (For windows) ... reduce 800 MB from the total (Due to windows metro graphical interface or aero or whatever and the framebuffers needed) , A guestimate even if inaccurate will be nice. *I do not know if it will work with render farms or not, if you get a summary back or what not.

I liked how you made every polygon in the ground plane separate. I also loved the use of scale in your armature for the legs. I was wondering if that might be a good solution for making my character’s eyelids appear only when he is blinking?
@cgboost2 жыл бұрын
Glad you liked the content. Well, it totally depends on how you modeled the character. If the eyelids are separate objects this might work, but if they are connected with the face, this would get difficult. You can also try to use shape keys.

Hello, I must have been late with the comment, but okay. I am Russian-speaking, so I did not fully understand the video. So I apologize in advance for the question, the answer to which may have been in the video. How long did it take to make this animation? Is it a good idea to take ready-made Blender models and learn animation if you want to do animation but not modeling? Or is it necessary to model well?
@cgboost10 ай бұрын
Hi Нитро, thanks for your questions! I asked Zach how long did it take and je said that it's a bit hard to say precisely since he made the project while working on other things and it took a couple of months. Probably it would a week or so, if he had worked on it in one go. If your main interest is animation, you don't have to necessarily model things by yourself. You can totally use ready models. In a work pipline an animator usually just animates and maybe does the rigging. I hope this answers your questions :) ~ Masha

Hi. How to learn the fundamentals of art as a 3d artist so I can make things that look good?
@cgboost Жыл бұрын
Hi, apart from the practical side of studying the software, you would need to study theory in first place. Things like color theory, lighting, and composition are crucial if you want to produce good art. Also, if you want to work on creatures, you would need to study anatomy as well. This and a lot of practice. ~ Masha

@@pupuha I randomized the color. So in the Shader Editor I used an "Object Info" node, and plugged the "Random" output into the "Fac" input of a "MixRGB" node. The chose two colors and plug this into the "Base Color" of the "Principled" shader. Now you can put this material onto many different objects and each object will have a different color mix of the two colors.

@cgboost2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mattia, unfortunately it's hard to suggest a precise product since there are sales and prices that change every day, and you need to follow them to be up-to-date. Also, if you don't need a laptop you have the option to buy single pieces and assembly a computer yourself, that should be a bit cheaper than getting a ready to go pc. If you need a portable computer, you can follow the tech shops you have in your country and wait till you find an affordable option that might stick to your needs (Amazon also time to time has some good options). What we can suggest you is to try to stick to the recommended requirements you can find here and take the closest option to these specs you can afford: www.blender.org/download/requirements/ ~ Masha
