I didn't get it. I mean, whenever I download a 3d model, that kind of texture is included. And one more thing, why is it useful? Is it just to help the one who is producing the vfx or it change in some ways the final product?

It helps you in differentiating the 3d objects.Like if you can make wires blue, doors brown until you put texture on it.pikasfed323
