This goes the same for the generations before the Phantom Thieves. The surviving SEES, later on Shadow Operatives have to face off the demons/consequences of the mass shadow research years after the Dark Hour end, while Inaba Investigation Team were dragged into battles of falsehoods and repressed true selves.

Even though the game didint come out not to long ago, Toshiros rebellious awakening is something i already know people are gonna be sleeping on in the near future. Reperesenting toshiro's feelings as a shadow, but awakening his persona through his own rebellion of his shadow is probobly the most cleaver and unique use of this awakening systen i've seen yet

​​@@tastytango4841I didint really think about why futaba said it was like a cheatcode at first, but you bring up a really interesting idea, since it is litterally like a cheatcode. Since your shadow is the dormant version of yourself, you can't awaken a persona unless you face your true feelings. And on top of this, it's not like the things the shadow was saying were wrong, since hes literally the embodiment of the hidden/Dormant emotions Toshiro doesn't' show people. The really cool part of the awakening is when erie makes toshiro remember the time they spent in the hospital, where she reminds him to find a way to keep fighting, and hold onto the will for change, without regretting it" it completely changes his resolve on the spot, and transforms him into a vastly different person. His old feelings of regret, and fearing that the action of rebellion only brings more pain to people, are transformed into the idea that rebellion will always hurt people, but save more people in comparison, and he should not regret that. Then, erie, represented by this feeling, erie who already was taking the form of his Rebellion spirit, also becomes his persona (Which is why Toshiro doesn't change form). The whole game leads up to this idea, and they nail it amazingly. I can't believe they went so crazy with a spinoff.

@@sparktwochristopher7240 ye thats exactly it, In a way it leaves Toshiro extremely open to any attack, but makes erie very op since she has the initial clothing buff, and she can turn into a persona and become very versatile mid fight whenever she wants to. So the nerf of toshiro not having the clothing itself gets canceled out by how op erie becomes.

As someone from Latin American descent who has learned quite a bit about my history, this is a gigantic fail in terms of representation. Why would you want a Persona who represents a man that led Cuba to ruin through communism, was a vile human being that led mass murders against minorities, wanted to start an all-out nuclear war with the United States (see Cuban Missile Crisis), and whose ideology goes against nearly every single ideal and human right that the West has established in recent years? Not only that, he was a notorious homophobe and racist, something that will not slide in this day and age. To make matters worse, this man is the Persona of an aspiring politician of all people. Again, as a politician, why should your rebellious spirit be represented by a literal terrorist? Unlike the other Personas so far, all of which are fictional rebels, this is a real man whose actions lie in straight up terrorism. This is not meant to detract the game itself, just to note that putting one of the most controversial political figures of all time as one's rebellious spirit was definitely not a good choice to make.

It's possible Toshiro will have a proper Phantom Thief design as a playable Phantom Idol post launch. His rebellion form might be based on Erina, as she's part of Toshiro's desire for change.

Oh, I get why Elle's name was changed to Erina in the ENG release now. I have realized a lot of things, LOL. (!! ENDGAME SPOILERS AHEAD !!) (ENG) Erina - Eri-Na(tsuhara) (JP) エル/Eru/Elle - エル(ネスト)/Erunesuto/Ernesto "Elle" can also mean "her" in French, which is kind of similar to how Marie's name is pronounced as "Mah-ri-eeh", similar to the french word for "married" (marié). After being exposed to Toshiro's flashback, his "sin", she and Natsuhara are often referred to as "her" in that pre-during fight sequence, mostly by Shadow Toshiro. And also, this is obvious but, I love how Elle's design resembles Natsuhara's physical state after that day. Elle's eye being covered by her hair - Natsuhara's face was gravely injured, and that same part of her face is covered in bandages. Elle's leg being covered in protective armor - Natsuhara's legs after the accident are not explicitly shown to us, but according to THAT manifestation ("My feet... They hurt... My eyes... I can't see... I can't see...!") and the info given to us, Natsuhara does have the same leg damaged as well and covered + post-credits scene showing that same leg from Natsuhara's crippled. Elle's hand missing a glove - This one's interesting, since that same hand that Elle has bare and unharmed in that flashback, Natsuhara has covered in bandages once and damaged. By the way, can I also mention how much I love the little detail that both Toshiro and Elle are missing each other's opposite gloves on their hands? Neato. Elle's torn-up skirt - It's the same skirt Natsuhara was wearing the day of the incident, part of her school uniform, and we see her trying to run away from Nakabachi, only to end up running into that incoming train, when she was still wearing it. Probably getting torn up as a result, too. How do I explain this... Elle's design/appearance is like a mix between Toshiro's amnesia, not recalling anything about the event and what led up to everything until now, causing Elle to have unharmed, clean body parts, and Natsuhara's actual physical state, how she ended up in that harrowing day. Like his brain being glitched out and trying to recall that memory, but is unable to. I find it interesting, especially after she is HIS Persona, after all. I didn't expect them to use, or at least resemble, Persona 1's "Nanjo-Yamaoka" idea, especially since it was kind of used again in P5R, but it's still a nice twist! I loved Elle/Natsuhara and Toshiro's relationship a LOT and the post-creditd scene made me tear up. They're so lovely and I didn't expect to be so likeable despite being so different! Toshiro is so goofy, yet his story is so good. Definitely one of the best modern Persona male characters for me. Anyways, I didn't expect to like Tactica as much as I did, especially after that... _incident_ , a week ago, but it surprised me through and through! I had a lot to say, so I'm sorry for the wall of text, HAHA. Once again, the game where everyone is chibified manges to make me feel more emotionally destroyed than the actual mainline games. 😭

What he means is that it's more akin to SEES and Inaba Investigation Team resolution, to change the perception of individuals/masses to be more positive, or at least a better outlook in life, which at least reduces the chances of malevolent entities within the collective cognition emerging. Even though that resolution is bold and impossible to achieve, it was needed in the long run, which at least relieves the burden of the different generations of Persona users.

My only complaint about this game is the build-up to Salmael’s fight. They literally made us do a boss rush lmao. It would’ve been cool if it was just that, but they shoved two missions in between each fight? So it’s like 9 fights back-to-back before fighting Salmael and honestly I hated every second of it. Especially since one of the missions had Futaba going “Crap, reinforcements” like AT LEAST 5 or 6 times. Also the game needed more Shadow Toshiro content 👀

Ok, I swear, either the one playing was just overleveled or this game is easy as heck. The final boss and its goons were doing paltry amounts of damage, the enemies in both Mario Rabbids games hit far harder than these. And I saw a video of the DLC's final boss, and it was no better.

The game is a complete breeze. I didnt die once. I didnt fuse any personas as they are largely irrelevant. Blew right past it. Some of the challenges/quests were clever and puzzle like though. They were challenging at times.
