Lokman MG just saw it. Not doubting that the value is worth the money but it IS quite a steep price. 99 dollars for a session on whether or not you should pursue an career based on drawing seems kind of... offish.

Wish I could find the dynamic sketching advertisement which brought me here. There's so much invaluable information provided by Mr. Han. I love love love his focus on the kinetics/physicality of the craft, as well as his focus/emphasis on mistakes and personal hurdles and skillful progress via dedicated practice. Absolutely brilliant.

Idk if anyone is reading this but he's wrong about losing muscle memory entirely. There's a reason why it's called muscle memory and not muscle forget. It takes a significant amount of time to lose muscle memory and taking some time off isn't gonna reset your progress. It will take some getting used to again, of course, but you can definitely pick it back up after a little bit of practice.

yep, like riding a bicycle after a long while. I read that Monet said it took him six paintings to get back into the 'groove' after he had a long hiatus from painting, due to his eye operation. So in a sense it is true. Best is to keep at it every day, even if only for ten minutes. But if you're serious about what you want to accomplish, then it takes the immersive lifestyle to succeed.

Do you rotate the paper when you train drawing arcs and lines, or do you train drawing it from different angles? Cause, a lot of times, you can't tilt your medium....

I'm a beginer too, and his exercises are super important, but they are quite frustrating, they are slow, and you don't really see why you are doing them because it's all abstract and you don't see the point. So, I'd recommend you start somewhere else, and then return here once you have more experience.
@idiocracy10
@idiocracy10 5 жыл бұрын
this is for beginners, especially beginners. this is so you can draw boxes, cubes, and ellipses. if you can draw the basic shapes he drew at first, at any angle, and rotate them purposefully at any angle on demand, you can pretty much draw anything. these basics are necessary for any type of environment, mechanical or figure gesture drawing, including believable readable cartoon shapes.

3:40 On his insistence on Felt Tip Pens over Ball-Points: if I HAD to draw with a permanent medium, I'd prefer felt tips. Ball-points give absolutely dreadful lines. I could never understand how people can draw with those.
@prometheuszero9
@prometheuszero9 4 жыл бұрын
Felt tips and brush pens are so versatile and they're great to use. I really love them and prefer them now for my finished pieces. For quick sketching though, I still use ballpoint or maybe even pencil at times (pencil less now because the sketches get smudged inside the sketchbook over time). Ballpoints are are just cheaper and they're just laying all over the place, and I don't feel bad if I lose it or forget it somewhere. I still think they've got their place, but as a quality artistic tool for finished pieces, I still lean towards felt tips but even more so towards brush pens and actual brushes and ink.

You could have easily explained this in under a minute or with probably 10 or 15 words. I get that people learn differently and the practice involves patience should people need it, but if people are not in need of a particular exercise it's best to explain it as effectively as possible so people can move through if it's not going to benefit them, which is the advantage of online learning, that it's not supposed to hold you up with information you don't need. I guess it's just not everyones kind of teaching style.
