Trying to resist carbs, trying not to gain weight, trying to get enough exercise, making _Terminator_ jokes, playing with a dog, running on coffee, suffering from jet lag, getting exhausted, taping a GoPro to a bike so you can film it, griping about crowds and noise, dealing with hotel staff… I love it! I somehow doubt you'll make this a yearly venture, but I would love it if you did!

+Eagle262 They're clearly TVs in public spaces. Even if you just turn them off (presuming you even can), inevitably someone comes by and turns them back on. Classic introvert, I am almost precisely the same way. There are times I like crowds, mostly when I'm in front of them, singing songs, playing my bass. But I have grown to hate being "part of," a crowd though of course I always fee slightly apart in any case. And loved the peaceful serenity of the locations before the crowds arrived. I love seeing places like that: large, wide-open, only a few people going about their personal business. The whole thing has a very intimate feeling while at the same time being completely disconnected.

He didn't feel like watching anything. But he had to. He must. He was lost, maybe Reddit would help. www.reddit.com. Nope, nothing, nothing to do nothing to see. He thought about leaving, there was a world outside. But he couldn't bring himself to do it. He saw a man walking down the road, he looked pretty normal. Maybe he could be him, but that was absurd. He looked back at his computer he went back to KZbin and he search for a certain video and there it was. He watched it for a few seconds before scrolling down to the comments. He had an idea, his fingers brought themselves upon his keyboard for a few seconds. Boom, it was done. He looked to the other videos. "hey that looks cool" he thought. A few hours later he came to. 3:32 AM. He sighed, was it time for bed? He had forgotten what sleep was like. He closed his eyes and searched for something but nothing came to him. He sighed. He looked at his computer

I loved the fact that at the end of the video, when your mood is down and your voice is sad, the image becomes desaturated - and as soon as you live LA, with hope of a better future, the image become saturated again (19:35). Really nice touch.

You know, most KZbinrs I watch strike me as fairly extroverted. I find myself wishing I could be more like them. Never have I watched a vlog where I felt like I could've very well been the person filming producing the video. Thank you for your perspective.

This is so hypnotizing... I admire (?) people who are able to live like this; the moment I have a cord on me of some kind while I'm outside I freak out. I need to experience everything only with my own senses and nothing else. Music-listening is the only exception at times. Many words that were never truer have been spoken during this video. Congratulations for your achievements! These vlogs have something truly special to them.

John Black If its a TV at a gym, likely no remote, and they probably disable some or all of the buttons or like that TV, had no buttons at all. So power cord it is.

8:38 Criticizes Americans for having too many screens *Has smart watch, smart phone, tablet, laptop, camera, etc... Also, he unplugs the TV rather than using the off switch on the bottom or side? Tired CGP Grey is tired
@Vulcapyro6 жыл бұрын
unplugging things is more visceral and satisfying in the midst of frustration
@davidbriggs2646 жыл бұрын
Unplugging things means that they STAY off. Turning something off means that soon someone else will come in and turn it on. Unplugging it means that it will stay off, because very few people who try and turn on the tv will see that it is plugged in, rather, they'll think that the tv is busted.
@jati6 жыл бұрын
Firstly: He is an American himself. Secondly: He can decide about how and when he uses his own screens. He is talking about all the screens that are (not literally) thrust at him. And, yes, they are everywhere in the US.
@offlineable6 жыл бұрын
That's a good point regarding his choice when to use his screens vs screens just blasting random info at the world.
@Nahtanojrepus6 жыл бұрын
I'd put 45% odds, on any given screen like that, that there is no power off function. They're made to be controlled entirely by the establishment - they don't want people turning them off - so the only way to be rid of them is to unplug them at the wall. 1 in 10 or so don't have an accessible plug and you just have to put up with them. They're *awful*.

I grew up in North Carolina for 18 years, then went to live in the center of some downtown areas for undergrad and grad studies (the biggest being Miami) before finally moving back to NC and man, as an introvert, it's so good to return to somewhere quiet and peaceful. Something about the sound of cicadas in the summer.

It's not a huge point, but it feels very melodramatic. I wasn't there so I don't know how draining it is to fly a few times over the course of a month. Or to film vid con for a day, or record a podcast. I can say that last summer, for it's entirety. I worked in the oilfield testing the integrity of the tubing that goes in oil wells with hydrostatic pressure. Whether it was 98 degrees with 90% humidity, or 85 degrees with 100% humidity, which is raining. Covered in oil and diesel. Lifting things as heavy as 60 to 80 pounds no less than 80 times in a 10 hour stretch. I had a blast, and was getting paid to do it. I only say this because, I don't think you should do something if you hate it that much. What I was doing was far more physically and mentally tasking, but I was enjoying myself? In my job if I make a mistake I could cost someone 100's of thousands of dollars. The stress sometimes of making sure everything is right can be frustrating. Especially at the end of a long day, but I still enjoyed my summer more than you did yours? I don't know Grey, I love your videos and I hope you continue to do them, but not if the cost of that is you wanting to jump off a cliff. #BreatheEasy dawg. Just because you are good at these videos doesn't mean you have to do them. Enjoy yourself man, you only get the one shot.

It seems that it's extra exhausting when you're a self employed person dealing with much more uncertainty. Working for someone else always eases the mind and allows you to have guilt free down time. This trip is 6 weeks where every moment needs to count, I can see that being tiring. Your summer does sound tiring too though
@TheSam19026 жыл бұрын
The best things with vlogs is that they're not matter to debate so you don't have to worry about someone destroying your points cause you have none lol. Nice summer, 10/10 would watch again
