I love this game, I wish the series kept going after GX. I tried some other "similar" games, like Wipeout, but it wasn't the same. I like the way the vehicles in Wipeout handle, even better then F-zero, but they are so slow! I won so easily, and I could blink! It isn't an edge of your set video game if you can blink and not die.

@@ThaRBMVenom Captain Falcon belongs in the Blue Falcon going faster than the speed of sound. Not on cartoonish 2D fighting stages trading blows with Kirby and Mario. I would rather Nintendo continued the F-Zero franchise than the smash brothers one.

Eternal Light For the most part. Yes, it clobbers almost all the Mario Kart games, but to me, the only Mario Kart game that F-Zero X couldn't beat is Mario Kart 64.

I love F-Zero. I own both F-Zero on the SNES and F-Zero GX for the Gamecube, but I've only ever played this one on an emulator. Regardless, this is a flawless series as far as I'm concerned.

My dear review person... If you have yet to defeat the brutal stage 3 in Story mode... You have no idea what hell awaits you after. And even if you do witness it. I guarantee you, you will lift your Gamecube controller in the air, fall to your knees with tears in your eyes and say: "I BEAT IT!" Because that is what I say to my F-Zero GX... Btw great review sir :)

If you hold the joystick down while on the receiving end of a submission hold, the other wrestler won't let go. That would explain AKI Man pummeling Rick Rude over and over again. Rick Rude appears in the game in a managerial role and can be controlled by the player with the third or fourth controller. But him tapping out is probably faulty memory unless they used a GameShark to make him a playable character. Managers don't tap out. That is unless Dark AKI Man 2 really _did_ assume control of the game.

This is my fav. of all the F-ZERO games released for home consoles(yes there is an arcade version), the SNES ver. never really grabbed my attention, and the GameCube F-ZERO GX was just too F*cking hard, and give me nightmares trying to beat it, and still have not too this day(bought it on release day), and having found this one used at a local game store for $4 was totally awesome. This versions Kicks ASS!!!

Not that that would ever happen, but if the Wii was as powerful as those platforms and Nintendo did not have such an overfocus on casual games, would the next game display 100 racers onscreen at once and be as colorful as Hydro Thunder Hurricane?

@FreedomOstrich No he's not, they're vastly different games. F-zero(snes 1990) played a bit like mariokart on steroids, while the first wipeout (1995) had real hovering physics. 3 years later came f-zero x

well.. i believe i said improper relative to what i consider "proper"... i really like the over-the-top speed metal, comic book-esque theme of fzero x.. i wanted the sequel to be exactly like that, with better graphics and such.. sega did a fine job with gx, but in my opinion it lacks some of the previously mentioned essence from fzero x... now, having read what i just wrote, we can conclude that my comment about "never getting a proper sequel" was just plain whining...

@FastTquick wow your everywhere,I know you mean well and it does make sense but really I think everyone is aware that all games will benefit with HD graphics,but according to this game..graphics dont matter they could have made this game look better but they would have to decrease the number of frames which will take away the sense of speed..graphics is only icing on the cake..most of nintendo's 1st and 2nd party developers produce the games that we want..its the 3rd party that makes the casuals
