Ratchet & Clank's Future series comes to a thrilling conclusion on the PlayStation 3 with Into The Nexus. Like prior games, Into The Nexus is an action-platformer with seriously cool gadgets. The highlight of the game is its weapons, which seem to get cooler and cooler as you progress. Into The Nexus continually gives you cool items that add to the gameplay, making things change just enough to stay fresh. Players can also upgrade their weapons with new abilities, which also keeps things interesting. The game isn't long, but the pacing is fantastic and it's a non-stop thrill ride as long as it lasts. The series' last release on the PlayStation 3, Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus is a single and multiplayer game.

I think 8-10 hours is a perfect length for a hidden gem, especially a platformer. It leaves a good impression on you. It's one of the reasons I love the action-platformer 'El Shaddai'

Since that's the last game of the Future series, Insomniac will prob give the games a break for a while and focus on the R&C movie. They might make a game in 2015 to help the sales of the movie, that's what im thinking.

There is no 7-11 hours! If not going through side quests, or exploring maps 100%, the game ends within 4-5 hours max

I'm surprised you guys at cgrundertow haven't reviewed Banjo-Tooie, Jet Force Gemini, Kya: Dark Lineage, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath and a number of other platformers. Granted, Stranger and Gemini have shooting aspects but they also function as platformers. Stranger's Wrath is one of my personal all-time favorite games. It's such a unique game. It's not perfect, but the message it gives, how it plays, and its beautiful world were unforgettable. Just watching Stranger run is a joy.

seems to be a game series where the games just stay good and thats very rare to see in an on going game series that has lasted so long. i do like me a good ratchet and clank game from time to time :D

Ratchet and Clank is the first and only game that sold me on the old- fashion style of run and gun, fps games (i.e. the guns are fun, you shoot hordes of enemies, and you carry a huge arsenal to play around with). I've played Half-life and Painkiller, but it took what is essentially a furry with a gun hording problem to realize the beauty this formula has.

I disagree about a good lenght being 6-7 hours.For how games cost now It shouldn't be less than 10 hour in my oppinions.Its true that not everyone can or will finish all their games but Its never a waste to have much more content.Just look at call of duty who's campaign are so short that its a joke If your not buying It for the multiplayer!

Just finished the game. It's pretty decent, and a must play if you enjoyed the previus games. Having that said, the game does feel a little rushed at some points, but that never spoils the fun. As for the reviewer, do check out the rest of the future series, they are really worth checking out.

Ratchet and Clank is my favorite franchise of all time. I've got every game in almost every version. Just as much fun at 24 as it was at 9. Not many games have stood the test of time like that with me.

The framerate in this game is absolute garbage and drags the game well below all of the previous Ratchet games. Ratchet & Clank has always been a series that focused on delivering fast paced action at an ultra smooth 60 frames per second, even on the underpowered PS2. But not only does Into the Nexus cap the framerate at 30 fps, it seldom even reaches that mark, usually hovering at around 25. This degradation in framerate results in a game that feels slow, janky and unresponsive compared to its predecessors. This downgrade is emblematic of how far Insomniac Games has fallen in recent years.

While I agree with you for the most part, into the nexus still is a great game. Insomniac lets you do a lot of crazy stuff such as having 3 vortex grenades, 3 spook in a boxes, zurkon family, and the bliz-o-matic chain transforming enemies into snowmen while armor is falling off of the 20+ enemies on screen, and all as the enemies are shooting you. Along with that, there are much larger areas to explore on some planets than there were on any of the previous PS3 titles. Still, I did manage to freeze the game a couple times which is something that I've never been able to do in any previous games in the series.

I didn't mind the low framerate too much. Probably because the game is GORGEOUS! It is sweet, sweet, eye candy and on top of top of the fun gameplay, how can you really complain?

Grab the PS3 HD Collection, and grab the other 2 Future games (since Nexus comes with Quest For Booty). You won't be disappointed, except for the first one maybe, it doesn't have strafe. You don't realize how much of a pain that is until you don't have it.

+Ex Tyger I've played five Ratchet and Clank games here's how I rate them... Ratchet: Deadlocked - 4/10 way too hard I raged quit 20 times and never even got to the first boss fight R&C Future: Tools of Destruction - 7/10 fun to play and added my favorite weapon: Mr. Zurkon... but was too long and never got to beating it R&C Future: A Crack in Time - 8/10 same as Tools of Destruction but easier and more fun... but I'm still playing it my rating might change when I beat it R&C: All Four One - 6/10 way too easy and the game is twice as long as Tools of Destruction but graphics are awesome and I get to play as Dr. Nefarious! Ratchet & Clank(PS4) - 9/10 perfect difficulty, graphics are better than any first person shooter on PS4/XBox One, we get to see human Nefarious, and story is made more interesting and fun to see.. but Drek, Skidd, and Qwark get annoying at times...

DaManHibiki ! It's only because All 4 One was fun for awhile until I got halfway through the game and realized I was only half way through... plus i never got to the first boss of Deadlocked.... The only Ratchet & Clank games I've beaten are A Crack In Time and the PS4 Remake

Personally I'd say the original trilogy and is ONLY because Ratchet and Clank 2 and especially 3 because to this day R&C 2 and 3 are among the most fun games I have ever played. I like Ratchet 1 as well but I personally think it's the weakest link in the original trilogy because the controls are really not good for an action-platformer and the story/acting were only alright to me. The Future Trilogy is a different story because I consider all 3 games are superb but while I do still have a blast playing them none of them leave quite the same impact. Personally R&C to me are exactly what a 3D metroidvania should be . Also guys it's not even a contest All 4 One doesn't even come close to Deadlocked but I honestly did get bored with Deadlock and it's choice to have less weapons and higher levels and mods for them.

all ratchet n clank games are super epic I played form the very first up to crack in time im waiting til they get the rest in stock again hehe it is very popular I know how you feel each person has a time they play for themselves 6 hours 26 hours for me one day I hope they make a ratchet game that would last a few weeks long and about a 100 planets to visit a ton of guns mods and levels to level up it is pure fun and after a hectic day ratchet n clank is always the best to relax me.

okie sthere is the original trilogy then deadlocked then came size matters psp then ps2 versions then secret agent clank then came the future trilogy form tools of destruction, quest for booty then a crack in time, then came playstation heroes, with him jak n sly, then all 4 one then q force then finally nexus but wait there is more a new version of ratchet thanks to the movie next year is coming out for either ps3 or 4.

Nexus is a good game, but not much of a jump over its predecessors. Ratchet and Clank Future is the best one, followed by Ratchet and Clank 3 and then the original (the last one is admittedly debatable).

George Vasquez They haven't made a Metroid in awhile and they don't seem to be doing so now. I think he means that Nintendo needs to make just more games with shooting mechanics. We have had 4 metroid prime shooters in the span of about 12 years (first released in 2002 of November). 1 was supposedly crap (other M) and people didn't like the motion controls added to corruption (3). So really we had 2 solid ones...

true he really didn't make a case. he's not the best reviewer imo. but i think it's because well. compared to the earlier game's. you have lizard corcodile man. and monkey cyborg robot (wah?) compared to the past one's. up your arsenal and going commando are the best example's. the enemy's from those were top notch. hell i would even go so far as to say the desgin's in the first one were better. and that's not just me being blinded by nostalgia.

Arkham Origins wasn't just more of the same. It was trying really hard to be the same but without any of the polish or charm of the Rocksteady Arkham games. Also most of the recent Ratchet and Clank games were terrible and half-assed
