Brawl maybe isn't great, but good. But with Project M? It becomes the best game in the series. That is until the 3DS one. And then the Wii U one replaces that.

This is actually my favourite in the series. Don't get me wrong, Melee has a special place in my heart as well, but I feel like Brawl had the most to offer. I used to own Brawl, but then I sold it because I got a PS3 and I was at the age where I was just getting into violent M Rated video games. Little did I know that years later, at the age of 20, I'd be craving for this game again. It makes me feel like selling my Wii and Brawl were 2 of the biggest mistakes I've made. Im buying a WiiU this December and I'm getting Brawl and MarioKart8 as my first games. SSBB4 can wait until later. I feel like getting Brawl because I didn't give it a fair chance when I first got it. Now I'm just craving to play it and beat it at 100% completion

My friend had heard at school that this game was awesome, and when he came over to hang out and try out the game, he was immediately turned off by the opening music. He thought it would be something a lot more hardcore and he hated it, until he actually played the game and loved it.

From a party-game perspective, the floatiness of the characters actually do help make it more welcoming to those who aren't into fighting games. However anyone who is good will want to go back to the more technical Melee.

I remember being so hyped that I made my own paper calendars with all the characters hand-drawn where I X'ed out one day per day, but my mom threw them in the trash for some reason :(

@LG112108 Only online with button lag and your occassional screen freeze due to major lag. but if your a real big smash bros fan then you can predict your button lag so you can get your moves on time.

I used to play this game like heck until (the game was already used when I got it) the disk got so screwed up that every time I would play the game, a message would appear at a random point saying "The game disk could not be read." Sad, huh?

@HoneyIShrunkTheKids2 With an SD card and the homebrew channel thing, you can get hacks like no replay time limit, no random tripping, custom character skins, to full blown rebalancing mods.

Gosh! This game is already over 2 years old! Its crazy to think. I haven't touched this game in ages (because of Modern Warfare Reflex) but I like this game a lot and it has fun online when I have a stable connection :D 9/10

Wow now that I think of it, I've owned this game for about 2 years and I STILL haven't unlocked everything! Seeing as how there's about a five year space between every new Smash Bros. game...we can expect a sequel about 2013. CAN'T WAIT!!!

Not so long time ago when I desided to buy my own Wii, this game was the first game I got with that console. At first I wasn't that excited when I was hooking up my Wii, but when I started to play this game... WOAH!!! I played this game for hours & hours. It was amazing feeling. Now these days I'm still playing my Wii in time to time & have over 10 great games for it. I don't care about people bashing Wii anymore. Wii is a great console & it has awesome games on it's collection.

Buy SSBB to get some practice in. Also if possible your going to want to get the Wii U version of SSB as well because inevitable the game is not going to play as well on 3DS it'll still be fun but i don't think it'll necessarily be that amazing Smash Bro's game where waiting for. Due to the controls of the 3DS. Don't get me wrong i'm buying it too but i'll be upgrading to the Wii U version as fast as possible :P Honestly in my opinion i think releasing the 3DS version first is a mistake.

Not trying to start anything but the 3ds is a powerful system look at metal gear solid and link between worlds and pokemon on it they could've improved the graphics even if it's not everything they could've went much much further and the controls for games I love it should be great this is a non biased paragraph IVE NEVER PLAYED SSB guess I missed out from what people say and how they praise it.

Fariko Wishless Oh yeah i know i suspect the 3DS version will be great, they've already confirmed the wizards at Nintendo managed to get it running at 60fps even in 3D on 3DS so i know it'll be great i just think the Wii U version will be better. But only because how i like to play the game which is a big bottle of pop some junk food and a few friends around the same TV. :)

Ok here is part 2, i ran out of charectors almost so i had to stop. So we both had one life left, i was the underdog because in the begining everyone thought it would end super quick. At this point they were all cheering for me. We both hadnt had lost a life for about 5 minutes. Both of are percentages tied at one point. Then he would have a higher percentage and i would have a higher percentage, we were both in the hundreds. TO BE CONTINUED!

Gosh, I love this game! I used to play it all the time with my siblings & friends and I believe we've never had that fun together! (Too unfortunate though that they made some errors with the first copies and they became unusable).

@Hyakitaki well, when young link isn't inany of the recent games, what's the point? he's a spinoff and probably should've only been in the original. he was only in n64 and 2 systems later, i'm pretty sure he shouldn't belong. and pit is there , i know but he's there to bring back a classic character. there probably is going to be no time travel in new zeldas except for the oot remake on 3ds. other characters they tookout were either carbon copies of other characters or replaced.

My personal favorite is Melee only because the moves take less time occur, and there is a smaller window in which your opponent is open for attack with chance of reprisal or block. Brawl brings the series back to it's roots with the slower game-play, but I think that detracts from the frantic and highly skill based game-play of the series. It feels like a devolution of sorts, and for that I scorn the series. A lot of hardcore top of the line tournament players also don't like brawl for this.

Super Smash Bros IS classic game history, I love it because, like the reviewer said, it reminds us of the amazing franchises that sleep nostalgically in the back of our minds. Every character in Super Smash Bros really does remind me of the great times I had before Xbox Live. The current generation games now days aren't creating anything that much new, nothing to conjure any nostalgia with. Only few games can do that anymore... Gaming has only hit the 3rd dimension, can we go any farther?

Brawl can still be played competitively. I've seen some really great matches on youtube for Brawl, and I'm not talking about ProjectM either. However, I will agree that tripping is one of this game's biggest downfalls. But I've played it enough back in the day and realized that tripping has never really cost me a stock.Sure it distracted me once in a while, it's not like it happened everytime, but even when it did, I was a good player and was able to come back fighting strong. I wasn't too fond of competitive melee because all the special techniques were exploits and people were playing the game the way it was not meant to be played. I have nothing against melee players though, just saying

Man, I remember wanting this game so bad. I didn't even know it was coming out ahead of time, I just happened to be at Best Buy helping to watch my sister and then boom, there it was, a demo of Smash Bros. Brawl. The story mode is really what made me want to play it so bad, but my mom got a whiff of Zero Suit Samus and decided the game was absolutely unacceptable. To this day I've never owned the game.
