The flow of this video is beautiful. Starting off talking about the inportance of not relying on addons to think, explaining the origin info for curve modifier, then back to reminding us to use that knowledge. Its so simple, but i needed to hear that. I didnt know i was doing that so much until i heard it

Thanks Rudy. Another easy way to make a curve is to simply steal an edge path from existing geometry and separate the edge and then convert to curve. I've done this a lot of times with my fluent curved grids. You can also set the grid array length to fit the curve as well.

@CG Thoughts: could you explain how to make a curved grid in 2 axis, in ex a curved circle grid over a sphere with round hole?

About the sphere, I advise to use a cast modifier set it to sphere and pick an object at the center of the imaginary sphere.

Thanks for the tutorial, all very clear. I have only one question, I bought fluent a couple of weeks ago, I find it really easy and fun to use, but the problem I encountered concerns the interface of the add-ons, unfortunately it is not like the one in video, how can I fix it ? is there any update? (ps. I have blender 3.0.0)

Instead of creating and projecting a bezier, could we use an already existing edge. Like duplicating and separating an edge on the curvy part of the mesh and converting that to a curve? Thx for the video btw

Yes it's another solution. In this case you have to copy the object, apply all modifiers then extract the edges then remove the copy then convert the edge into a curve.

Moi j'utilise plutôt une texture type grille, avec transparence et ensuite appliquée à une simple surface. Le rendu est plus rapide, car il y a beaucoup moins de polygones a traiter pour le calcul. Par contre pour les simulations avec choc, découpe ou autres déformations, j'ai pas encore trouvé.
