2024 has been nothing short of eventful - a year of promise and setbacks for Africa. Moderate economic recovery offered a glimpse of hope. The African Union joined the G20, while Egypt and Ethiopia participated in BRICS as full members, signifying the growing influence of the continent. But challenges persisted. The Sudan conflict slipped further and further away from the global radar, instability in the Sahel worsened, and the economic crises in several countries triggered large-scale protests.
