Ch 37 Transport Operations

I have a question. My dream is to become an EMT, eventually paramedic, but my psychiatrist says it is not safe for me to drive at all. Can I still do it, or is driving an absolute requirement? I live in California, but could move.

Hi Lisa! It depends on what you would like to do career-wise with your EMT/Paramedic certifications. EMTs and Paramedics can work in hospitals and other settings that don’t require any driving. If you want to work on an ambulance or for the fire department, then driving is a definite requirement. Hope this helps!
