Cortisol levels must be highest in the morning so the body can physiologically wake itself up after a night of rest. That is why the levels decrease at night, so that we can fall asleep.

Sir, cortisol levels decreasing while falling the day because of negative feedback mechanism of cortisol,we already study that cortisol levels got heaviest at 12pm,so that the high amount of cortisol will be enough and the present cortisol will inhibit the CRF::From hypothalamus And ACTH::From anterior pituitary gland.....so that cortisol secretion will get low later in the day
