He actually credits Sentai with helping him find his path after Lazy split in 1981. The director of Nippon Columbia suggested having rock singers do anime and toku themes to keep up with the kiddies. So Kageyama did Changeman and his phone's been ringing since then.

Fun fact: Saban originally wanted to make *this* into the first Power Rangers, and I can see why. This show is gorgeous; the jets, the costumes to this day are amazing, and the sunny, bright, airy, and free feeling you get when the theme kicks in, *also* amazing. It's all just perfect. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it), Saban wasn't able to work with it due to the deal falling through.

@@cxyyoutube5270 Jetman was actually inspired from an Anime called "Science Ninja Team Gatchaman". In fact, the Jetman share the same bird motifs woth Gatchaman, and a lot of the characters are very similar. As for Jetman not being kid friendly, I don't think that's the reason Saban didn't adapt the show. All the not-kid-friendly elements could've been adapted out very easily. I think they didn't adapt Jetman because the show would've been more successful with a dinosaur motif, rather than birds motif (MMPR was released the same year as Jurassic Park, after all).

Jetman is considered to be the ultimate homage to "Gatchaman", which was one of the series that inspired Super Sentai. Each of the heroes are based on members of the Science NInja Team. Ryu/Red Hawk is based on Ken the Eagle, Kaori/White Swan is based on Jun, Raita/Yellow Owl is based on Ryu the Owl, Ako/Blue Swallow is a female Jinpei, and Gai/Black Condor is based on Joe.

It's good that Shout Factory and other DVD comapany made a lot of Cartoons/Anime series in complete DVD collections over the years like Transformers, Power Rangers, My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, Miraculous Ladybuy and other animated films. But I still wished they have done something interesting for a changed like released some past Cartoons/ Anime shown in UK/USA/ Australia from the 90's, 2000 and beyond like: Cartoons: Blazin Dragons, Space cats, Starla and the Jewel Riders, The Addams Family, Creepy Crawlers, Mary Kate and Ashley in Action, Biker Mice from Mars 1993 and Gormiti Nature Unleashed. Anime: Cardcaptors, Spider Riders, Yo Kai Watch and Ultimate Muscles. It may sound a lot to wished for but if you have some favourites Cartoons/Anime memories from your childhood like me then you would understand from what I'm coming from even though it's unsudden if it even going to happen in the future. I know a few of them were released into DVD in the past but none of them were in complete DVD collections like Transformers and Pokemon. I think it's about time that Shout Factory and other DVD comapany should think of making them into DVD because that could make them successful. But maybe not on Blu-Ray as some of us like myself don't have a Blu- Ray DVD Play
