After watching this drama, I couldn't help but to fall in love with all of the characters and their stories. It's such a bittersweet rollercoaster~ Hence, I had to made a video-edit.
No hate against WangXian - I feel as though Wei Wuxian and Wen Qing would have made a wonderful couple if they continued to live in the Burial Mounds together with the remaining Wen Clan. Their friendship grew so much from when they first met. When Wei Wuxian needed help, Wen Qing was there to help him although she also feared for the outcomes of his decisions. And when Wen Qing was all alone, Wei Wuxian was there for her without hesitation. My hearteu~
So sad Miss Wen had to sacrifice herself in the end with the rest of the Wen Clan to protect Weiying :(

She and Wen Ning were such a great family to him. Her whole family was. They were two ppl who were wrongly judged so they found safety and home in each other. I feel like her and Wen Ning were the only ppl who knew just how much Lan Zhan loved Wei Ying, other than Lan Xichen. They saw the interactions between them when no one else was there. They all saw each other at their absolute worst. They're all a family. No matter what. Wen Ning and her as Wei Ying's siblings and Lan Zhan as his husband.

Wen qing is such a great character in all versions of mdzs. In the novel, i loved her alpha personality and strong will. Altho it will always be wangxian for me as endgame, in the drama, wy and wq did give me some “romantic vibes” unlike in the novel where they clearly never had any thing more than mutual dependence and comradeship.

in the original script of the drama they were supposed to be endgame (wy and wq), because fans had found out during the filming and were furious about it, they changed the script, made it more Wangxian and reshooted some scenes, but some of the scenes between wy and wq from the original script are still there, that's why it can gives some "romantic vibes", especially from wq POV.

@@sylvianaliaka392 no, it's true, I was a mdzs fan before I was a cql fan and I've been anticipating and following the drama version before it even aired. due to the censorship, the producer/director expressed their hesitation in making it abt lwj and wwx so they wanted to bring in a female lead instead. And the best option was wen qing. Not so long after I heard the news though, there had been a lot of protest, enough to make them cancel this improvisation entirely.

Yes, kind of because Wei Ying used them as an excuse to avoid his loved ones and what he truly wanted, and because he wanted to isolate himself, he got himself into trouble instead by using his twisted methods and not believing his loved ones. I heard there was a plan to have a relationship between Wei Ying and Wen Qing but fans of the book protested during filming and it was cut. Could be a rumour. I would have loved that to be in. Wei Wuxian def. admired beauties whilst Lan Zhan was very indifferent. Whilst I can accept Lan Zhan having a bit of a crush on Wei Wuxian in the drama, I never got that vibe from Wei in the drama (not the same as book, which I have not read but heard about)

Wen Qing just developed attachment to Wei Ying who was their saviour and vice versa, and wanted him to continue protecting them and isolating and trying to bind him for that. That was the feelings with no light or future. And, Wei Ying continued with that to avoid being where he truly should be and hiding his many secrets and not believing in and trusting the one who loves and wants to protect him in his own twisted methods and ways, which gave him a twisted and messed up fate as a result

"You would never have risked yourself to help me save my brother." There was no love as a couple, but there was unconditional love between Weiyin and Wenqing. I love them ♥️. As Weiyin told Jian Cheng: "Even if it wasn't them, I would have done it for anyone else." This is such a beautiful edit and I love the way they interact in the show. I don't ship them because I see them as a family more than a couple. She was there for him when almost everyone else was against him, she saved him and Jiang Cheng even though she knew it was risky. He saved her family and loved Wen Ning like a brother. I wish can change the story. Wei Ying and Wen Qing married when they lived together in burial ground because both of them as leaders for those people who live there. Then, they have a child who'll become a great boy/girl as the combination of his/her parents, good in kungfu and also medicine. ,Wei Ying was a great in kungfu but it's not enough too see this in it's drama. If he had a child which get his ability, it will cure my disappointment.

I feel like if WWX was bi...Lan Zhan is is first live and most pure love...but this one might be the “realistic, practical love”. I could see them getting married if they stayed forever in the Burial Mounds and continued to build up that community. And I think there would be real love there but totally different from the idealistic first true love of Lan Zhan. Not really, Wei Ying always loved and missed Lan Zhan, and in drama, Lan Zhan loved, cared and sacrificed so much for Wei Ying, more than Wei Ying. Lan Zhan love was unconditional, he loved, cared, protected and believed in him for whoever he was whether right or wrong, sane or insane, good or bad and was ready to heal, and mend for him for whoever he might become and so Wei Ying too always had Lan Zhan in his heart. And, they were soulmates and loved each other, Wei Ying loved and missed Lan Zhan despite the many misunderstandings he had. And, about Wen Qing or Wen Ning, it was that they saw Wei Ying's beautiful relationship with his sister and repeated sacrifices for his family and Lan Zhan and Wei Ying's love and dedication that made them look up to him. Wei Ying loved and missed Lan Zhan dearly but tried to avoid Lan Zhan because of misunderstandings and secrets that he wanted to keep from him. I think Wei Wu Xian and Wen Qing shared a friendly relationship, where each other gave them importance, love, care. Wen Qing didn't cared about the world and even not for herself to stand for Wu Xian. In burial mound, when Wei Wu Xian was being hated by the ehole world and was so far from his comfort zones like Lan Wangji, Shijie Yanli; then Wen Qing made his life so much happy as she could. She has loved her selflessly like a sister. Like Yanli she didn't cared to sacrifice herself to save Wei Wu Xian. They were attached with each other deeply, even Wen Qing wasn't afraid to show her affection to WWX in front of Lan Wangji. They were best friend forever❤

It would be low key not a drama if there weren’t main ships, especially with the fact that WangXian could obviously not be showed as a CP. It may have been a cover up. having read the book ..i always thought that Wen Qing and Wei Ying understood each other ..they had similar priorities ...love and protect their siblings and try to do the morally right thing even if it meant sacrificing themselves for it. they both pay their debts to the people who helped them and stood by them. Lan Wangji is the same too. I think Wen Qing did have feelings for Wei Ying while they lived together on the burial mounds...But Wei Ying never noticed it and was always playing the fool or the rest of the time he had to deal with the rest of the clans attacking them and also he was constantly inventing things for demonic cultivation..he was like mad scientist living on the mountain. So he never looked at her that way. plus i think he was missing his sister and brother and for him Wen Ning and Wen Qing was kinda like a adopted brother and sister. I think the first time LWJ came to the burial mounds (when Wen Ning got loose and started attacking everybody) and Wei Ying got hurt really bad (its not shown that badly in the show). Wen Ning nearly crushes Wei Yings throat causing him to bleed profusely and faint. She sees Lwj panicking and embracing Wei Ying trying to heal him with his spiritual powers ..she interupts him telling him it is not neccessary that she can heal him as she is a doctor...yet he doesnt let go of Weiying. That is when she suspects there is something more between those two. Lwj gets very angry with Wen Ning and takes it out on him while capturing him...he plays the guqin very strongly hurting Wen ning and only slows down when Wei Ying and Wen Qing beg him to go easy...She even tries to ask Weiying after Lwj left about their relationship and points out that WWX mentions LWJ a lot..but wei Ying just brushes it aside. Infact i distinctly felt that when Lwj was there at the burial mound he himself felt a bit jealous seeing the comradeship and comfort level between Weiying and Wen Qing ...he came there to persuade Wei ying to go back to gusu with him but then he saw that Wei Ying had people there who were like family to him and he knew Wei Ying wouldnt abandon them.

Well that made me ugly cry! It was beautifully done, so thanks for sharing it. I always loved the family you make/choose vibe between WWX Wen Qing & Wen Ning. They were the close friends & siblings who “adopted” & supported each other, even when they disagreed. Seems like Wen Qing’s death is one I’ll never really get over. After all of that pain & sacrifice on both sides, she died an unjust & untimely death & both of her “brothers” suffered greatly because of it.

whoever created this needs a chocolate loll ( sorry i love chocolates so much) Everyone says that it was lan zhan who fought for wei ying but no i disagree to it to some point. im in episode 33 ( the end of flashback him falling down)and im saying according to that episode , i dont know what is coming up in the future episodes. so yeah everyone says that its Lan zhan who was with wei ying when the whole world was against him but No it is *Wen Qin ,Wen ning and his Sister Li* who was with him when everyone was against him. these 3 people gave him happiness , cared for him ,sacrificed themselves for him and protected him until their end. yet noone talks about them (especially wen qing and wen nings death by jins ) as people are busy shipping lan zhan and wei yin or as its a bl. The things Wen qing did for Wei ying is just unmeasurable and viceversa ,she is the one who understood his heart the most and she is the one who tried to cheer him up the most ,she sacrificed herself to protect him from any further dangers and she and wen ning took care of his sister and brother when every one was against them and him equally protected her, provided her shelter, saved his brother. the chemistry and the bond these 2 have is so underrated maybe its not love, maybe its not friendship but it is the purest form of a relation anyone could ever have and what they both have is something deeper than a romantic relationship.

Cuando vi este drama no sabia que este era una adaptacion de una novela, que se basaba en una relacion homosexual entre los protagonistas, la primera vez que la vi por casualidad este drama pense que Lan zhan y wei wuxian solo tenian una profunda amistad incomparable y tenia la impresion que al final el terminaria en una relacion romantica con Wen Quin, precisamente por como Wei Wuxian se preocupaba por ella, por como se alejo de su hermano Jiang Cheng por protegerla a ella, a wen ning y a su clan lo senti asi. La segunda vez, que me vi el drama para entenderlo mejor me entere sobre la novela y el significado de algunas cosas que no tuve en cuenta la primera vez que lo vi, recien entendi del tipo de relacion que habia entre los protagonistas en el drama.
