@@michaelshaw2786 Forgiving doesnt mean forgetting. Forgiving is possible but forgetting is not. Just like what my parents did to me, i can forgive them but i can never forget what happened unless i lose my memory

@@iamwhoiam326 Sorry for your experience. But, forgetting here in English doesn't mean literally 'forget', rather, to liberate yourself from the dark and negative hurt feeling so you can enjoy the full scale of life. In the west, many serious killers, rapists or people with anti-social personality often have one thing in common, that is they were violated by someone close to them when thy were young. Those dark experiences and feelings often have a profound effects to their lives later on. One therapy is to forgive the offender so you can finally settle down with yourself getting rid of the victim mentality.

@@michaelshaw2786 i get where ur coming from but to me its more appropriate to use the word "let go" instead of forget. Letting go the memory also means letting oneself go rather than holding grudge as it will make us unhappy and affected. Tbh, its easier said than done and not everyone can do it and its not fair to tell someone to let go cz we didnt experience what they experienced and what they went thru. Of course u can give ur opinions and advice but only if others ask u for advices.
