If Pru starts speaking Chinese, that tears it. French, Italian & a vast memory of Shakespeare & other texts. I think her acting background has helped her keep her mind. Plus her husband isn't letting her just close down & retreat into a tiny, closed, 'safe' decline. All this travel with someone she completely trusts & deeply loves.... If you've got to have Alzheimer's this is the lucky way to have it.

It kind of annoys me that they are still using the same moment when Pru forgot to cast off ten or more? years before. If that's her most recent mind-slip, she's doing fine. I'd be annoyed having one mistake, constantly replayed like it defines me.

I'm sure they both had input into the shows introduction. And Timothy says many times that Pru has been having difficulties. I'm not sure what year, but she was diagnosed with alzheimers and commented during the show she had problems with memory. It would be disingenuous if they left out some slip ups. And I think that showing mistakes, and Tim made some too, makes them even more endearing.

@@maryholeman5976 Pru is such a sweet lady, I get tired of them going on about Pru's illness. Nobody can quote Shakespeare word for word like she does and not have feelings about being made out to be a dummy. In the early seasons Tim sat on his ass barking orders at her like she was a 20 year old sailor. He did, in the last couple seasons, give her a break and started to show his appreciation for his wonderful wife. I have a feeling they'll pass on within months of each other.

Prunella Scales will be 90 this June. I hope she see another 90 years. She's a sweet lady.
