To anyone asking why it's bad, look at the video description. But to put it basically, a piercing gun cannot be properly sterilised so it is very unclean, staff at the shops are not properly trained and the equipment is not sharp enough, it shoots a blunt object through your ear causing damage to the area. That's just lobes, with cartilage at the top of your ear or on your nose it can shatter the cartilage and cause permanent deformity.

Where are you from? The English shops used to be like 40% goth / studded / victorian style gothic and 40% plain silver stuff and earrings and 20% cute stuff which then became 80% cute stuff. Edit: oh and in another comment i wrote it was a unisex fashion thing to wear rosary style necklaces in wood or bright colours like pink or blue plastic and elasticated wooden block bracelets with crosses (which later became may religious symbols) printed on them. That and studded everything lasted quite a while in the fashion world, studded shoes and boots were big too. We have strict uniforms usually too, so I think some of the religious imagery was to get away with being able to wear the stuff in school.

I have actually been trying to get more into the Goth style, since I was very young Ive actually been interested... but I come from a family that isn’t very supportive of this come of thing. I still do want to be goth, and I want to try. But for now I just have to stick to short purple hair and dark purple lipstick, since black hair and makeup is not acceptable in this household. Im also not allowed piercings, but jewelry is more acceptable I guess. I’ll get there one day, I hope. Kalah Howard I’m a wannabe goth, mostly because of my parents dislike towards my fashion choice and lifestyle. I hope that one say I can be a goth too, whether it be classy or punk, I just want to be there. And I so agree about the Cat ears, really cute. Red Le Clerc When I went to europe for my cousin’s wedding in kosovo, she was dressed with jewels on her forhead and traditional patterns on her face. Forhead jewels/dots and such are found in many traditional cultures from around the world. Literally search up traditional kosovo bride and you’ll see what I mean. You can wear traditional things that arent nessecarily from your background as long as you educate yourself before attempting to try it out and that you appreciate the culture behind it.

I really appreciate that you talked about respecting the goth subculture and not knowing enough about it to consider yourself goth! Too many people start calling themselves goth under the assumption that it just means wearing black clothing or liking Tim Burton films, but it's a music-based subculture just like metal, emo, pop, etc. Goth rock, deathrock, darkwave, and gothic post-punk are all genres that fit under the goth umbrella, and some basic well-known bands include Bauhaus, The Cure, Siouxsie and The Banshees, Joy Division, Sisters of Mercy, and Christian Death.

rowann Claire’s pierces with a gun and that can’t be cleaned so that could’ve been part of why your ear got infected. If you haven’t already gotten it re-pierced get it done at a tattoo parlor they take classes on how to do it so it’s less likely that you get an infection
