There have been some top notch duos in the 60's. Simon & Garfunkel, Peter and Gordon, the Everly Brothers .. but Chad and Jeremy are very special to me. I love their music ...rip Chad and Gordon.

I saw them perform this live with their other hit songs back in the 1980's and they sounded so magical on that night like they do in this video. RIP Chad Stuart and thanks for the cherished musical memories with Jeremy!

Al, after posting my own comment, I want to respond to yours, because I'm crying with you, for the same reasons: the wonderful music summer of 1964 when rock n' roll music received new life and creativity through the British invasion, the Searchers, Peter & Gordon, Chad and Jeremy, Sandy Shaw, The Dave Clark Five, and of course the Beatles. I loved being a 12-year-old kid listening to all that great music. Peace & Blessings to you, Justin (Now living in Minnesota, originally from the Washington D,.C. area.

Yesterday's Gone holds a special place in my heart and memory as a 12-year-old kid who had just returned to the US from living overseas in Nepal where access to any rock and pop songs, via shortwave radio was spotty and intermitent. So when I listened to this live version, my eyes filled with memory tears, for my childhood, for the wonderful music summer of 1964, the songs of the British invasion, and a simpler time. FYI: Chad and Jeremy's A Summer Song is my favorite song within the rock n' roll pop genre. Peace to all, Justin

This song reminds me of my first love. His name was Karl. We both lived in Chicago but he was from the south side and I was from the north side but we met in the middle, at the Field Museum where we worked. This was one of our songs. This song expresses how we felt that summer of 1965. But his parents disapprove of me and forced him to give me up. I was crushed. Now he's just a nice memory of the first guy that loved me.

I saw Chad and Jeremy back in the mid-60s. Always loved them. Since Chad passed away, Jeremy has been singing with Peter Asher of Peter and Gordon. Gordon Waller has passed away, too. Wish I could see them perform, but Jeremy and Peter only do special performances now.

I have never heard the piano taking such a prominent place in this song. I think it's great and puts a different spin on it. However, sifting everything else out and listening to just the piano, I have this thought that it could be used as background/incidental music for a Peanuts cartoon. I imagine Charlie Brown and Linus walking through a park and having a conversation while this piano part of this song is playing in the background. I don't specifically know why I think this but I do.

This was good. But their masterpiece remains "A Summer Song." No other non-Beatles song encapsulates the Summer of 1964 for me than "A Summer Song." A gorgeous ballad, rarely equaled by anyone. Here it is: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJfZfWWlgcp1j9U "...Don't you know it hurts me so, to say goodbye to you. Wish you didn't have to go.
