My brother was the picture of health until he had a massive heart attack at 64. His wife was a nurse and did CPR until the medics arrived. They were able to donate his corneas and skin for burn victims. As heartbreaking as losing him was I still hope especially on bad days, there are people living their best lives because of his generosity.

Thank you for your kind wishes. My brother was Jack Falla, leading hockey writer in the country. An interesting person to Google, although it’s heartbreaking to hear him giving speeches and see him in the movie “Pond Ice”. Just doesn’t seem possible he’s gone.

@bombbuilderusaf - I am so very sorry for your loss. I lost my brother last year, who was my only sibling. I was so touched by the Van Morrison song selection too - Van Morrison was also one of my brother's favorite artists. Our parents are also dead. I am the only one left. May God comfort you and your family and his friends always. Thank you for the gift of life for others who could not survive without his beautiful gift of a second chance at life.

@@bombbuilderusaf I was told in nursing school, 30yrs ago, NOT to show your emotions.. Keep a stiff upper lip.. be professional! BULL .. We are human .. we were given emotions for a reason! I'm not saying I bawl, scream, get pissed etc infront of my pts .. but I do let some tears roll infront of them or while I'm holding or hugging them... I also sing and dance and act silly at times just to cheer them up. I'm a nurse .. I'm still professional and I handle anything that comes my way, very well .. but being a nurse also means to empathize with the pt and family, too.. at least in my book. So, please tell your awesome daughter, for me, not to lose that part of her.. honestly no matter how long you've been a nurse, it doesn't go away.. SHE'S HUMAN and she sounds like a KICK ASS NURSE that I'd want taking care of me! ❤️

They build up all kinds of wonderful appreciation for Chad, in life and in what he and family did after death : Yet don't share what he died of! I figure it must be something embarrassing. Something the family; that is; feels embarrassed about; when they shouldn't. Some human weakness felled Chad, likely. IMy condolences to the family on your loss. I wish the Honor Walk was around in 1994 when my 6 year old niece was in a car/pedestrian accident. She was declared brain dead & after learning she couldn’t survive off life support my sister made the decision to donate her organs, this decision helped 6 people & helped us make sense of a senseless death. Once we all set our final goodbyes they just simply wheeled her down the hallway to the operating room I’ll never forget that image as long as I live.

Alas, cot death would have not made his organs viable for transplant. It's the life support that keeps the organs going after the brain ceases to function. So don't beat yourself up over that, please. So, so sad for your loss and I doubt many days go by that you're not thinking of him and the sort of person he could have become, or even the people he could have helped. My heart and prayers go out to you and all those who've lost a loved one. RIP is a real thing, they are Resting In Peace, asleep in death, awaiting the resurrection. You could take comfort in that.

May god bless this family. I lost 5 members of my family between 2013 and 2019..one brother to Covid he was high risk. The other to heart condition at birth. My niece to suicide my mom to pancreatic cancer..and dad to old age and loss of mom. My brother n law passed 2 yrs ago from Covid after liver transplant but he was recovering from surgery and his wife gave him Covid when she caught it. It took him out. I feel your pain and grief it's a horrible thing to go through. Death is final and difficult to accept. I believe in my heart I will see all of them again. Hugs to those in need of compassion and prayers
