Jibaro is one of the influences and inspirations for bachata. So the sound is very similar and familial to Dominicans and comes by no surprise that they love it. The same way we love Merengue and bachata over here lol 🇵🇷🇩🇴

La música jíbara comparte los mismos elementos que la música guajira cubana. Sus desarrollos son paralelos y con el tiempo seguramente ha habido influencias mutuas vía las migraciones de boricuas a Oriente de Cuba, asunto que María Teresa Linares ha estudiado a fondo. Del mismo modo, en el siglo XX el aporte cubano a los arreglos en las percusiones nos han influido, si bien nosotros siempre hemos tenido una depuración propia de esas influencias. En el caso de nuestro aporte, más allá de llegar via las influencias de los puertorriqueños en el Son vía los migrantes de Oriente, también tuvimos influencia vía Rafael Hernández, quien dejó su huella en Cuba hablando un idioma musical con una base cubana, pero con un deje o estilo patentemente boricua, asunto resaltado en varias melodías que tienen composición de nuestros clásicos ritmos como el Seis Chorreao y los Seises Morunos, que son muy parecidos al Son Cubano. Esto es algo que en ciertos círculos cultos, incluso musicales, no se ha apuntado históricamente como corresponde. Al final nos hemos hecho juntos.

I see a few of the Steel Bands of Puerto Rico but they are more modern. I'm looking for the ones that first made the steel drums for the oil cans during WWII because they could not have other materials during that time to make their drums. I don't know if the recordings were made in the 40 0r the 50's after the war. This music playing is very nice but not at all like the steel drums.

La bichiyal: Odia a los españoles por cosas que pasaron hace siglos y dice ser "no religiosa sino espiritual" mientras cree que alguien es mala por ser "escorpio" y cree en el incienso y los cristales. No quiere tener hijos, sino "perrihijos" o quizás queda preñada con uno o 2 nenes de un caco ya sea "accidentalmente" o para entramparlo para vivir de la pensión alimenticia. Considera "acoso" que le digan bella o hermosa pero se perrea los reggaetones del caco que le habla de todo lo que le quiere hacer en la cama.
