To this day, I’ve never seen a single race where Reed was the fastest guy on the track. He only ever won when RC wasn’t riding or when Stewart crashed ... often because of Reed.

@@wd840mxhighlights I didn't say or mean that Reed wasn't fast. He was. He just happened to peak at the time when maybe the two fastest riders of all time, RC and JS, peaked. In 2003 and 2005, Reed rode well ... and was the second fastest guy on the track. His only move was to figure out how to eliminate RC and/or JS. He couldn't ever beat them ... who could? I wonder if there's a different story if Reed's career peaked with Dungey or Stanton. We'll never know. I just always got tired of Reed riding dirty in order to take out the guys faster than him. That's not racing to me, but I understand that others really like that sort of stuff.

Stewart screwed up big time coming out of that corner and took Reed down hard then Stew just cuts across the track like normal and takes KDub out! Love how Stewarts teammate and tries taking Reed out that cost Reed the title and got Chiz in the history books as the first lapper black-flagged for interfering with a Race win. The AMA should have docked Stewart 3 places since he was the team owner at the time well part owner.

Both James and Chad rode hard all season long and gave no quarter to the other no matter what. But for Chiz to get involved without even being in the same race ( lap) was just plain cheating and you're right, the team should have had some type of position penalty handed to them.

@@markhills3922 I agree and finishing 2nd in that Race cost Reed the title. Most people dont even know that Stewart was part team owner at the time. He cheated his way through his entire career anyway! He couldn't beat Ricky or the Ryans straight up for a title indoors or outdoors no matter how many shortcuts he tried to take.

That crap pulled by James's teammate trying to knock Chad over is what made all of us to boycott Yamaha for the next season and ever since. Also when James tried to intimidate a motorist on the freeway by flashing a fake POLICE badge , that was it. He forever sealed his fate as a punk thug . Fast rider? YES... But a BUM nonetheless
