This must’ve been when he started trying Paiste cymbals after being a sabian endorser for 30+ years I also think this is the first I’ve ever seen him use a double pedal

Yep, a first for a public performance with a double pedal. He's used Paiste Cymbals a lot over his career with the RHCP. He claims he used all Paiste cymbals for the recording of Blood Sugar Sex Magik.

Actually these cymbals here are custom painted Sabian, using the 24” APX ride… the first show he used Paiste was at the New Orleans Jazz Festival 2022.

Love how he is showcasing his influences: 1. Stewart Copeland, 2. Neil Peart and of course John Bonham

It's always nice to see Chad doing more in other bands than what he's allowed to do in the chili peppers.

Love Chad Smith but the snare is awful sounding :(
@DrBackBeat2 жыл бұрын
Could be the snare, could be the mix, could be the PA, could be the venue, could be that it's being recorded on a teensy tiny little microphone in a phone that's constantly buckling under the sound pressure of a concert like this. Don't just go and judge the instrument. What makes you think that a drummer like this, with a drum tech like his and a drum brand like that will make a shitty snare sound?
@Sonorg12 жыл бұрын
@@DrBackBeat just my opinion dude! If we all liked the same thing the world would be pretty boring :)
@DrBackBeat2 жыл бұрын
@@Sonorg1 Wholeheartedly agree. But you didn't voice it like an opinion and spoke only of the snare itself.

he turned a phaser effect on during his solo, that might be the cause!
