Chad’s old setup was insane. 80’s power toms accompanied by a piccolo snare cranked up as high as it’ll go! amazing

I prefer this 80’s-early 90’s kit. Was a classic rock/metal kit of that era

It's 2024 and he's now an ultra legend. Just an ordinary legend for me back in the 90's.

I know the Chilis get a lot of flak as a band but you cannot deny their musicianship. Talented blokes.

Does anyone know what snare he’s playing ? It looks to be some more type of metal snare.

The most surprising thing about this is Flea not using a pick.

@@andrepereira744 In an interview, Flea said that he would often use a pick on the songs with faster tempos, such as 'Magic Johnson'.
@andrepereira744
@andrepereira744 3 жыл бұрын
@@synthonaplinth5980 I would like to see that, can you send me the link? Don't get me wrong, I don't want to sound rude or call you a liar, but I don't really buy that because, you can clearly hear that he is playing this song with fingers on the album version, that's not even that fast (I also can play this,btw) or even their fastest song (on the same album, Mother's milk they have faster songs) they have, and he always use fingers to play. Also Flea used to play with Circle Jerks and always with fingers. I'm sure he can handle a couple of fast songs on RHCP. So, to me that dosen't make much sense, although I know he used a pick to record some songs, but just because of the tone he gets from it (not because the fast tempos), like Fortune faded or Zephyr song. Again, don't get me wrong.

weird comment: Flea popped and slapped his way through the first 6 albums. it was weird when he WAS using a pick
@synthonaplinth5980
@synthonaplinth5980 2 жыл бұрын
@@coldacre He said that the only time he used a pick was on faster passages, like "Magic Johnson'. Damned if I can remember where he said it, though. It must have been in an interview in the late eighties but my memory is kind of less than reliable.
