You guys reached me down in the depths with this today. Better than any sermon I've ever attended. I needed this today fellas. Never a Seal or SF but worked closely with many of them. Fantastic group of individuals that I'm honored to have worked with. All the best fellas! Edit: The more I've listened to you guys, I relate on so many levels. Seriously fellas, this has been truly what I've needed. I've always been self employed, done 10yrs + Army, medically out now, and spend much of my time now still running my show and doing a lot for my community and even teaching medical providers, law enforcement and even civilians, life saving skills. Absolutely love serving still, just in a different capacity. You guys are such a rarity to know there are people like you out there. Seriously listening to this has been so motivating. Thank You.

This episode struct deep with me. I have the "hole" and live with the regret every day that i never took the opportunity to serve. It has been a struggle and desire my whole life and i never truly was able to fulfill the void. I work every day to be the best version of myself I can be and do everything in my power to support my family and friends and be a good member of my community in the hopes that this will suffice when the day comes. I think your honesty in this episode has really helped me to sort this part of life out and realize that while i should have served and done my part that I can still be an impact for those around me without wielding a rifle. I will still hold the utmost respect and honor for all those who have served and continue to serve and will press my mind to stay on target in life and make my small corner of the country a better place. Thank you for this! Thank you for being great human beings!
@TyMcLeod2 жыл бұрын
I lived my entire 20s for myself and am leaving behind a successful film career because I know damned well that I will carry the regret to not serve with me as well. It's thanks to men like you who are open about this regret that encourages me to serve. You are making a difference whether you're holding a gun or not. I'll be enlisting for 18x (Special forces contract) and shipping out in Nov/Dec.

Chadd & BRC are bang on. I don't know where people get the idea that combat is some sort of self-improvement course... Those who have been in combat know otherwise. And those who have truly been in combat generally avoid even talking about it. Combat is not a self-improvement course. You don't go in to that pipe and come out the other end a 'better' person. If you are fortunate to come out the other end, you are definitely a different person, but not a 'better' person and often not better off than you started. Combat has the ability to dramatically change your life, your thoughts, your family, your perceptions, the perception of you by others and the possibility of having to drag a lot of personal baggage around with you for the rest of your life. Chadd and BRC, in their own way, remind everyone to be careful what you wish for - it might come true. That, and all of this 'thank you for your service,' bs - just be good people and worthy of the sacrifices made for you by others.

Wisconsin? Probs a bad reference.... we're amphibious up here. #MN Evan - you likely won't read this but the cool thing about podcasts is that listeners feel like they are part of the conversation. Their argument usually revolves around, "my son od. drugs are bad. It's the drugs fault" ... Like the attack on guns. Also, think about this statement - "Drugs are addictive" There's no one taking ownership for taking the drugs to begin with. The kid's thing... you're right. 100%. Verbiage around that should never include, "Well, what were the parents doing when this was happening?" This is one of the best BRCC podcasts. Freedom rules!

But wisdom is justified of her children. TY

One step at a time. This is sound advice. I like putting it in aviation terms: If you are barreling down the runway, don't focus on what's going on right now at 30.000 ft. Otherwise you will trip over the pebble right in front of you that you couldn't see because your head is up there in the clouds. It is so easy to get overwhelmed by worrying about what might still be coming up. And that is when many pack it in. Hell, I have packed it in more times that I care to admit. I am not proud of that, but it is what happened. All I can do is make sure it won't happen again. I found that people generally only complain about things they feel should be different, in hopes of someone else changing things for them. Which rarely happens, if ever.

Great episode! I like that y’all can have diverging thought processes, but are respectful of the others views, ‘individual experience’ are the ground work that we base our moral/ethical beliefs, we each have our own ‘built’ lives. I thought I was the only person that experienced that. When everything goes into slowemotion and everything is silent. But you're fully aware you're working through your problem. I try to teach my son.that. The whole conquer under stress. He knows my military career in the marine corps. So I trie to apply that to his wrestling. And competitive Jujitsu And football.. Which he is the captain of all three.. But there's nothing like being humbled. You Cannot. Is wild out . On emotion. While you're getting choked out, you want to flip. Your focus and fight through you can overcome. There is a Difference Between fight or flight mode. The calm guy that can see it through slow motion and execute calmly over the the other man to win.. How many real fighters actually feel getting punched in the face. In the moment. Execute move to a better position. That is the game we call life. Amazing podcast Fellas and God bless. ❤
