You have to let Lataffa fragrances macerate and they will smell much better. Spray the bottle 15-20 times and let it sit for several weeks, then retest.

At first I went to try Explorer for the aventus clone experience but loved it for what it was rather than being a clone or “inspiration” of aventus. To each their own!

I feel like the fresh opening stays present for a longer period of time that makes the dry down very balanced and smooth to my nose. Still haven’t tried the club de nuit clones yet. Mont Blanc Explorer is a favorite of mine. It's smooth and not synthetically overpowering like CDMI. Longevity is acceptable.

I believe even though Explorer is in the same vein/family of scents as Aventus it's doing it's own thing with more of a Bergamot focus in the opening, and Leather based in the drydown without the Smoky Birch accord. Although it's not as sophisticated, or rich smelling as Aventus or as strong and projecting as CDNIM; it's a solid middle ground option for those who want something more budget friendly. For me I get like 5-6 hours before it fades off which you would hope for better but is passable.

Personally i feel that moustache edp is much less ozonic-that fizzy/bubbling feel that you get from tuxedo! much more ambery and sweeter than Tuxedo IMO Glad that you added it to you collection as well! Turathi blue is very nice indeed. Got Milestone, it took me a couple days to come around to understanding that scent. Really nice summer frag. I have Armaf Untold ( Br540) and Afnan Zimaya The Club on the way. Some are saying it's a twist on Aventus, Aventus Absolu or Hacivat.

I have Turathi Blue, it's so great, its a Tygar Clone! Al Oudh is a Fireplace clone with middle eastern twist like with spices. Most Lattafa needs to macerate imo. Also, Suits by Fragrance World smells better than Moustache.

Chad have you tried Creed Royal Oud or its clones? To me its the only wearable oud fragrance day to day. Also my favorite Green Irish Tweed type of fragrance is by far Swiss Army Sport, its a more musky version.

I have a bottle of turathi blue. I like it even tho I get a sweaty nuance from it. Do you get that? Aldo I see it shares some similar notes to dylan blue, do you think they're similar also which would you choose between the two for a year round grapefruit ambroxan fragrance?

They are not similar imo. It wouldn't be redundant to own both! The grapefruit is more prominent in the turathi blue. Dylan blue is darker, earthier with added incense and really adds sophistication. I actually would take both for different occasions. Dylan blue is better for all year imo

I think I get that "sweaty nuance" you describe too. Not sure what it is but I get in other scents and it's kind of off putting. I get it in armafs hunter intense and ventana. Also in hawas. For a BDC clone I like club de nuit iconic. No "sweaty nuance".

OMG!!! Urinal Cake, THAT is the horrible smell I get from almost all the lattafa after a while! And yeah, I’ve done the spray 10-30 sprays and set the bottle away for a few months …. The only difference is the stench comes after some hours.

for future referance the first few sprays of clones do them in the air and dont judge the fragrance, after that let it sit a couple of minutes to an hour, preferably a few days to weeks depending on quality .

Beware hyped Vibrato and Tygar smells just like Turathi, its easily the most impressive and highest quality clone in general that I have come across. There are very few clones that could truly replace the original, in this case I wouldnt waste my money on those pricey bottles.

I also bought ameer al oudh and that thing you dont like, i also felt it, to me it smelt like plastiky vomit inducing thing, but i let my bottle sit for 3 months i was surprised, that it changed and that thing i hated in the opening almost cleared, let me leave the bottle for more 3 months.
