For those who weren't around back then, Chael did indeed get the next title shot, which he won. He then defended his belt several times before retiring with a perfect, undefeated record.

at the start of that interview, this is the first time i see chael being that honest. he (and bisping as well) are so good at selling their fights to the audience but i think they are way more humble and quiet in their private life. great to see that difference. i think i'm the only guy to like both of them a lot :D

This guy was really funny. I wasn’t the biggest MMA fan, had a roommate that watched it too much and I wasn’t that interested. But some of these characters are gold. I told the guy recently “hey I see why you liked all that MMA stuff.” I thought this guy actually took himself seriously and that he wasn’t basically playing a bit of a character. He’s hilarious

Always funny when people don't understand the "never lost a round thing". He isn't lying. At this point in his career, he never lost a single round of a fight that went to decision. He was always very good at scoring points. He only lost once in his career to a decision I believe and that was well after this.

Part of the reason he said the "never lost a round" thing was to be consistent with his character & keep the bit going. However, a big part of it was to compliment Bisping. He wanted everyone listening to know how tough a fight Michael gave him. So he was able to say, "I can't say that anymore" (referring to having never lost a round), and give that respect to his opponent.
