O'Malley could definitely get surgery on a 72-hour turnaround considering he's a world champion athlete. There's orthopedic surgeons lined up down the street licking their chops to have him as a client just so they could drop names. I personally have seen surgeons get called in the morning in the operating room while we work, and then they add on one of their BFFs for surgery at the end of the day. O'Malley is just doing whatever Dana told him to do to justify why didn't perform, Dana was the one who planted the seed in the post fight, and now Sean's following through with it, and Chael selling it. Also the reason why the scorecards gave O'Malley two rounds was because Dana was praying to God that if he staggered Merab in the 5th the judges would immediately drop a 10-8 and give it a split draw. Seriously the fact that two of the three judges gave O'Malley two rounds is insane, he only won the 5th.

Dominick Cruz has the record for Bantamweight title defenses 4 in UFC proper and 5 if you count the WEC title defense that merged the titles UFC merger if you count all WEC+UFC he has 6. Scott Jorgensen, Urijah Faber x2, Demetrious Johnson, and Joseph Benavidez if you count the other WEC defense. Pretty good names of that era to defend titles against. Aljo has less than Cruz under the UFC banner. The UFC count Aljo as 3 and Cruz as 5 their website. So lets not forget the record books! Myself personally I count all 145 and 135 pound champs in WEC after the UFC buy out as UFC champions since the UFC did not have the lower weight class in the UFC proper. Jose Aldo and Dominick Cruz both came out of WEC with title defenses. Cheers!!

Getting kind of tired of title fights having major injuries in them. Here's 3 champions that haven't fought more than once this year and it's been more than 3 months Pantoja - 1 fight this year in May 2024 Ilia - 1 fight this year in Feb 2024 Islam - 1 fight this year in June 2024 There's also plenty of interim fights that could have been had for these stalled divisions. Just feels like a lot of champions were on ice this year, defending 1 time at most.
