In todays day and age to be taken seriously you need to make money, which you can do by causing (false) drama. Gaming has always been around aswel as competitive gaming, but it's only now started becoming more 'legitemate' and mainstream because it started to make money. In the past companies laughed at most gamers, now, since the uprising of streaming services and the money that goes with that, almost every big company sponsors at least 1 competitive gaming team. Being respectful to opponents has been the core message of (mixed) martial arts ever since i can remember, and it was never taken seriously. I respect Joe Rogan, but when he has an agenda, he’s so unprofessional. It’s like when Punk and Jackson were fighting, and he insinuated Jackson had been paid off. No matter what you think of Punk, to suggest that live on air is completely unprofessional and insulting to both men fighting. Joe Rogan has fairly criticised Punk in the past, but the majority of the time when he talks about Punk, he’ll literally attacking the guy and saying the type of stuff a bully would say. By Joe suggesting that the Punk fight was paid/rigged, to all the new viewers watching (Casual fans, WWE fans, etc) those viewers will hear Joe say that, and think going forward for the rest of the night that “well maybe all theses fights are fixed.” The advice Joe gave Chael about “Don’t say it if you don’t see it. Don’t say it’s great, but don’t put the guys down.” That’s good advice, but I see Joe completely put that aside when doing commentary on the Punk Jackson fight. Typical Joe with the agenda against Punk.
