I grew up enjoying European classical music, American Jazz, Kentucky Bluegrass music, and in my twenties I became enamored of classical Spanish music. A few years later I began to appreciate forms of Flamenco guitar music. Then one day in at 60 years of age I heard/ watched a KZbin videos of various Oud artists from Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia. I was entranced, enthralled, and enchanted by this instrument. It is hauntingly beautiful!

It was a piece of Egyptian traditional music I happened to hear on the radio, and I was immediately captivated and entranced.
