59:34 What did you do different? You had just done the same mate a few moments earlier and it didn't work. Then you do it again and then it works. I have the same error as you got at 59:15. Now I have them all constrained but now it still says it's under defined. And now after repeating my save and rebuild, it says that it's fully defined.
@SolidworksFunPraveenSingh3 жыл бұрын
i used the same Save & Rebuild then the final joints created. If u have noticed, till 57:38- selected hinges in anticlockwise from 57:44- started in clockwise direction Did u also do that? Because, i too received error while creating all the mates(leaving the last one) in only one direction either clockwise or anticlockwise.

What if you have a fix center distance? How do you design the path with or without Chain Tensioner? I'd be happy to watch another video about this.
@SolidworksFunPraveenSingh3 жыл бұрын
the basic will be the same, whatever path you choose the total path length should be equal to pitch*number of links. This tutorial was for fixed centre distance & without tensioner. i will soon do a tutorial on with tensioner.
@fn3263 жыл бұрын
@@SolidworksFunPraveenSingh I've found out a way to tackle my problem. Fix center distance with chain tensioner. Thanks to this part 2:02. What I did was set a center distance between sprockets, fix diameters on both sprockets, fix distance of tensioner center to any sprocket center. Then tangent all the lines. Lastly, path length dimension.

When I mate the front plane of assembly and midplane of the links, the link moves away from the path? Kindly give me a solution.
@SolidworksFunPraveenSingh4 ай бұрын
it should not if u follow the same steps as shown! I mean, firstly position the part named 'path' as shown and make it fix. then do the chain pattern and don't dissolve it. Then start creating the Mid plane mate as shown (using multi mate mode ON).

Hello, i need help with the last hinge joint, i cannot perform the last hinge joint as it appears with error, tried quite some times but still didn't work. Thank you.
@SolidworksFunPraveenSingh4 жыл бұрын
make sure any link is not mated with the path sketch or fixed. Try These Techniques: > First mating links in let's Clockwise, when reaching second last link then Start mating Anti-clockwise (from 1st hinge joint towards last one) and reach to the last link. OR > delete some previous hinge joints and then again start mate OR > Lastly if still not happens then Create a New Assembly file and try.

It won't let me change length of path. comes up with warnings that can't be entered. I have slowed down video and have draw it twice. Both times won't let me subtrcat without over defining???

Make Sure: 1. You didn't add center distance between the Polygons 2. You didn't fix centres of any Polygon 3. Didn't Put the Center of Any one of Polygon at the Origin (as did in the tutorial) Then, It will work. Path Length can be modified.

where's the gear mates between the gears? where are the mates for the chain-to-gear? I did the same thing, and gears were slipping over chain: nothing mated correctly. help lol
@SolidworksFunPraveenSingh3 ай бұрын
here no gear mate is used! as u can see in the thumbnail, realistic motion is there! So, motion from one sprocket to another is transmitted through chain links! Real solid contacts is there between chain links and sprockets! plus gravity is also there!

I recently attempted to recreate this motion study in Solidworks 2021, but it didn't work quite as intended. There were a couple of settings that had to be slightly different compared to this video as they didn't exist. Also I had to use basic motion (Not sure if this makes a difference). the most I could achieve was that the sprockets wobbled back and forth slightly, and the links rattled and attempted to buckle. Would you have any suggestions for me to try / look at to correct this? - Hinge joint I couldn't select both sketches so tried concentric mate between roller and pins. Apologies for the verbal diarrhea.

I tried so many times but for some reason I cannot make the hinge joint. Also, I cannot seem to perform any without deleting mate of top plane of the chain path and top plain of the assembly. UPDATE: Flipping mate alignment in mid plane mates did the job for me. Firstly, I created hinge joint between each component even if it was over defined and deleted those which was unsolvable and the mate right next to those which were unsolvable and mated them again so that only overdefined error was showing. Then inside the mid plane folder, I flipped the alignment of any one unsolvable errored mate. Then wollah, every error disappeared

Pitch 12.7mm, Teeth 55 For Inscribed Circle Polygon- Pitch= 12.7mm Sector Angle= 360/55= 6.54545455 deg Inscribed Circle Radius= 111.04879765mm Try these steps; 1. Create a Construction Circle 2. Make a Side of 12.7mm (pitch line) tangent to the Circle 3. Draw two construction lines Joining the both ends of the Pitch line to the center of the circle 4. make Angle between those 360/55= 6.54545455deg 5. making circular pattern of that pitch line, using angular spacing between each pattern 6.54545455 deg, number of pattern 55

@@SolidworksFunPraveenSingh yes sir, what I did is, made a construction circle, made a 12.7054mm line tangent to that circle via the lines midpoint. Then I made a center line at x axis (center of circle) and measured the 12.7045 endpoint distance with the x axis. Then I created a new sketch. Made a point at this distance from axis and used Circular Sketch pattern and created 55 instances, then used line tool to join all those points, now I'll start making the chain link and then proceed with the sprocket teeth. Thanks a lot sir. Your response time for help is amazingly fast! I'll recommend your channel to others. :)
