Hello and welcome to the channel. This video is a how to replace front and rear sprockets and chain on Honda Africa Twin CRF 1000. It is pretty simple procedure that will require only two specialty tools. Chain tool so you can break the chain link, press on the new one and revit an it's a good idea to use the Torque wrench to torque the bolts to proper manufacture specs. It was first time for me attempting this job but it was pretty easy. I did not show how to remove the rear tire as there is quite a few videos on KZbin easy accessible. If you find it helpful it always means the world if you hit that like button and subscribe if you want to see more similar videos in the future. If you have any questions or comments please insert them bellow I always try to answer to my best knowledge. Other helpful videos you may find on this channel is how to change the tires accessories review packing tips for motorcycle trips and what travel gear works for me. Here are some links

Pay attention that the nut on the rear wheel must be on the right side of the bike, not the left. Axle must be inserted from the left. Not sure how much this is critical, but the maintenance manual is my bible :-) Thank you for a concise video!

Thank you for noticing wow, so in thay case dealership sold me the bike like this, they must of put it together this way when assembled as I always had it this way since day one. Just now looked in the Honda manual and Yes You are correct. I will change this, I don't think that makes much of a difference but better be safe and go as per manual. The axle had to be this way all along and no issues do. Good catch, thanks.

So I believe that “spacer” as you call it behind the counter shaft cover is the case saver which helps protect your case in the event your chain snaps. Appreciate the video. I just picked up a new to me Africa Twin 👍

good vid! certainly the job doesn't look daunting so I'm thinking to do it on my CRF1000 2016 when the time comes. I'm in the market for a chain tool like that, which brand is it ?
@AdventureTravelandScuba
@AdventureTravelandScuba 4 жыл бұрын
The tool is Multitool by Motion Pro works awesome and Motion Pro makes great motorcycle tools that you can trust. That tool will break the link and rivet back on a new one, there is another version slightly bigger more heavy duty fortnine.ca/en/motion-pro-chain-breaker-and-riveting-tool, the apparently better one is this fortnine.ca/en/motion-pro-chain-tool. Thank You for Subscribing.

either one will do mine has a longer handle so it is multipurpose for most jobs but get one that will fit your Sockets especially the biggest one you're using such as real axle nut and teipple tree bolt

@@solanobiker yes did quite a bit harsh off road that totally contribute to more wearing of components. Not sure if you followed any of my off road riding on the channel there are few videos. I think I'll back off from extreme riding a bit as yes repairs get pricey
