I had a chain drive on my 1982 Honda CB750 when I was a kid. My Softail puts out 116hp/136tq and I’ll stick with my belt thanks. I see zero gain in going to a chain.

To each his own. I prefer chain because when something bad happens in the road, I can repair it with a breaker and some spare links. A belt you’re dead in the water. I’m also sitting at 153tq now so that does play a small factor. It is a rider and everyone has their own reasons behind the madness. This is just the route I decided on.

I do club style riding…so it’s a lot of quick pace and going from 1st to 4th in like 2 seconds…would I benefit from a conversion?

How much horsepower do you have

150hp/ 142tq. The pipe is not a performance pipe and I went modest build on the motor.

Someone need to produce a heavy duty belt, hell we’re in the 21st century! 😂

Yea man, there is a lot a pros to both but for what I have going on, it just made sense. A little peace of mind and the availability to fix an issue on your own away from a gas station or help can go a long way.
