Andy Ace "Oh no, I hear a mountain lion!" I watched Birdemic and still couldn't remember if that mountain lion was really there. It wasn't until watching the Julie and Jack crossover with Lupa that I realized it wasn't and that was only because Phelous asked her directly why she didn't show the mountain lion in her review.

Wait a minute, this curse has been around for 200 years? HOW DID HE SEND E-MAILS?! Or did he just write actual letters and mail them? Honestly the womans death in the beginning could have been easily avoided. Once the wife noticed she could have continued to drive keeping pace with her husband and get his attention. Then when she got his attention they could have slowed down at a steady pace. She would of course be very injured from the experiance (plus the head wound she gave herself) but shed still be alive.

This felt like the horror movie equivalent of one of those "counterculture" anti-technology illustrations hipsters do. "Technology is evil brah!" "Why?" "Because it is!" "Wait a minute, aren't you using technology to spread your art?" "Sh-shut up you sheeple!" Also I'm surprised Phelous didn't comment about how the ending didn't resolve the film and we never really knew if the killers got caught at the end.

Admittedly, some of the chain-based deaths in this movie are pretty creative and well done... Shame they had to be in a movie that literally makes no sense.
@taylorholmstrom248
@taylorholmstrom248 7 жыл бұрын
That's the sad thing: this movie didn't have to be bad. The idea of a killer who uses chain letters to hunt down their victims isn't bad (though admittedly dated even in 2010), and the chain-based deaths were an interesting concept, rather Jigsaw-like honestly. But the fact that the killers hate technology when they're using technology to kill people for not using technology, especially when CHAIN LETTERS COULD EASILY BE SENT IN THE MAIL, makes the movie a confusing mess. Hell, even the technology-hating cult that targets teenagers was an interesting idea. That's three good ideas, none of which actually amounted to anything.

So when I did get my first chain letter, I cried for 2 days straight out of fear bc handwriting is my downfall. But I got those 10 letters written and sent... and then I found out that all but one of those people threw them out so naturally I probably had my first ever panic attack and blacked out for a few months until I realized that I was still alive and not going to die. It's stupid because real chain letters usually have some kind of scary storyline and there is some reason you're supposed to pass it on to protect yourself, but instead of doing that, this movie just goes straight to the "pass on or die." It might actually have been interesting if they'd put more thought into the letter itself. It's not like there's not enough real horror chain letters out there to get ideas from.

9:26 is that Keith David? Sounds like it. Edit: the guy who voices Julius Little from Saints Row, and himself, from Saints Row 4. And Admiral Anderson From Mass Effect. Edit 2: yup, it's him. Poor guy.

Why do idiot cops in horror movies always go and "investigate" these creepy layers without back up? They don't even have a partner with them. Also that chained to the cars trap was kind of stupid. Like what if the parents weren't completely oblivious morons and either saw the chains coming from their cars or felt/heard them moving as they started to drive off? It also depended on both parents flooring it right out of the driveway which is also dumb.
