northern tool company has tow hooks that go to the frame holes for towing out newer cars. you wont wreck suspension or drivetrain parts during the pull . A pair of frame hooks costs about 10 bucks. They are also good for tieing down a piece of equipment on a transport trailer.

I built a tow rope for the bossman. It was old marine mooring line that I spliced back together when his other crew managed to break it. I added 8 feet of chain to one end and put a slip hook on the rope. I put it together with clevis and sleeve/thimble inserts. I saw it last week hanging on a shop wall all tore up and in pieces. I wont hook them up again. My rope slices stayed but they hung the rope over the sharp edges of loader buckets and truck bumpers. Might as well save the time and just use a knife on them before you have to pick up wet dirty pieces from the ground.

Good video to the point. This guy films chains and hooks and that's what people who click this video want to watch. I see too many videos that mostly show guys talking and shows little of what's in the title of the video.

A person can't own too many. One laying on the side of the road will damn near cause an accident with folks pulling over to try and be the first to get their hands on it.

+MyHollowpoint I saw a really large pair of channel locks one time in the road. I turned around as fast as I could but someone beat me too them. Someone must have found a nice breaker bar that I left on my bumper once.

+REMNLY82 I've beat them to several chains on occasion but it's taking your life in your hands :) I rode to town one day with a screw driver on my bumper and when I got home I looked and it was still there,lol. Lucked out.

chains we used on the frame racks were something else, you could hear em singing the closer ya got to 3000 lbs pull, make ya sweat lil bit lol

the bed of the "Chick Magnet" is to me, what a blue Tiffany's box is to a gal. Something about rusty chain and grab hooks says Jewelry to me.

The times I pull someone out a situation I make them crawl under their car/truck and hook it on to what THEY want me to pull un...I tell them I take no responsibility to any damage to their car or truck....if there is any flinch in their reactionI tell them I will give them a ride instead........I have a pile of chains I inherited threw the years....

3/8, smaller chains are handy for normal use, but for logs they stretch.
