Have you ever thought about using a little 6inch pruning saw like the ONE+ HP 18V Brushless 6 in. Battery Compact Pruning Mini Chainsaw? It’s really easy to handle, it’s very lightweight and quieter the gas powered chainsaws. It would be really cool to use for the detail work.

Oh, it's so beautiful! Your attention to details really pulls it all together. I have a couple of questions. Where did you learn chainsaw carving from? Have you used chainsaws before carving? I've only just started Dremel carving, but I want to work on bigger pieces. I have acquired an angle grinder, a jigsaw, a rotary saw, and I still want to get the straight Makita die grinder, and a chainsaw. I think I'll be fine with most of the power tools, but I really want to learn how to use and care for a chainsaw,.....any suggestions where I could possibly find a good teacher for that?

Jenna, I was surprised you carved the first bear with the back rest still on but you did a pretty good job. Too bad the second bear wasn’t on as big a half log but all in all a very nicely put together designed bench. Wouldn’t mind purchasing it as it shows a lot of carving skill. With the bears muzzle wouldn’t it be better with a lite burn rather than just weathering or is it clear coated?
@chainsawjenna Жыл бұрын

I feel like I definitely could do it within a day if I wasn’t working on other things. It really all depends on so much. Lol I would love to do a video on how to build different bench. You can do it by yourself it’s just a little more difficult but feels awesome when you finish it.👍😁

I don’t like seeing a loose chain. There is no good reason for it.
@zod5966 Жыл бұрын
There is plenty good reason for a loose chain. The carving bars don't have sprockets at the tip. Therefore the chain has to be loose otherwise it would overheat the tip. Watch any carver and you will see the chain is intentionally loose.
@atnfn8 ай бұрын
Are gas chainsaws better for carving? Wonder why chainsaw carvers use gas chainsaws, they are so loud. Surely electric chainsaws would be better for your ears. Or is it just that you would go through too many batteries?
