hello, i agree with Erick Mick 66 there are not many step by step carvings to make a bear all of them are just fast forward and it gets frustrating for us newbies i mostly wood carve with a dremel , but wood like to learn about chainsaw carving and you are the first person with step by step instructions, please make another one start to finish thanks enjoy your video

I really enjoyed this video. Your camera angles are good and your explanations are very clear and informative... But I have one request. It would be a huge help if you could edit the sound. Increase the volume during your explanations and lower the volume during periods of cutting. If I have it loud enough to hear you speak, the sound of the saw is deafening. Just a suggestion. Keep the great videos coming.

I am glad I ran across your channel. I have been a hand tool Carver off and on for 20 yrs. I have just begun to play around with chainsaw carvings. I have a small echo with a 1/4 tip. I have several bigger roughing saws. One 40volt electric and a man traded me a 60 volt snapper chainsaw for a carving. I would love to try and put a carving bar on my two battery saws. Especially the 40 volt one. I love your videos... very informative.. if you do not mind me asking how much do you charge for your welcome sign bear, do you ship and where are you located.. thank for your time..

Hey I appreciate the videos and the tutorials, I'm wondering do i need specific wood? I have a ton of large logs and i live on woods so i can cut what i want, do i need to cure the wood first or can i just begin? Again I appreciate the videos i just started watching and subscribed.
@badasswood4 жыл бұрын
Hey, you don't need specific wood, some are better than others, and I'll be making a video dedicated to wood types and curing. I'll go over my system, and ways of storing, and process curing. Main thing is to get the bark off, get them off the ground, and covered with metal roofing, or ply wood. Tarps hold in moisture and encourage mold. Slow cure is always better than fast, but you can do iether, as long as you have ways of fixing the cracks if you speed dry.

I have other videos with better perspective its hard tjinking of exactly what to say though when im tryin to video and cut at the same time... i iften explain how to guage depth of cut visually or by feel... but 90% or that can only be learned with practice and actual time with a saw in your hands... i could over analyze every cut and detail till im blue in the face but i find most learning gets done by me sayin less and you guys followin the basics... just like teachin people masonry i keep it very simple then throw in speed tests... i dont like to tell any one more than two or three things in a ten minute period... t.m.i. and we lose track...

May I ask which videos. I'm getting better at the bear. But I don't why I always mess up when making the triangle on the wood lol. Always have to much on one side. Only attempt four times but getting far every time on it. Love your tho u are awesome at it.
@badasswood2 жыл бұрын
Theres a bear pov video... the one tjing is not to focus too hard on one tjing... my triangles are never even 😆 i just go with whats in front of me... took me a lot more than four tries before i was confident with my bears i can assure you that😁😁 ... thing is to watch as much videos and do as much carving as you can when learnin new stuff... it helps to go to an event where theres other carvers if you can find one...
