Actually the Denji's line at 12:05 is not translated well enough to convey the humor of the scene (not because of the translator's skill but of the difference between Japanese and English). There Denji says "mou ikkai dakitee naa" in Japanese and off course the sentence means "I want to hug her again". But it can also mean "I want to make love with her again"! Aki must take the Denji's line as the latter, that's why he is surprised so much

I realized through this reaction(kinda rewatch of ep2) that i missed something when i watched ep2. Aki said,"I'll remember that" when Denji said,"If there's a devil I could be friends with, because I don't have any friends". And then later, Makima said He's (Aki) the one who put you together(with Power). That is really wholesome😅

I love how the Chainsawman community is compelled by a higher power to spoiler the anime in any way possible in the hopes of souring the mood. I really dont know any other series that has this kind of problem. Even the Mushoku Tensei fanbase treats this very carefully and their spoilers could potentially ruin the entire anime adaption.

I have been talking about chainsaw man for almost a year now and we talked about every scene except that And mappa not animating that scene most probably meant that they didn't want to straight up blow up makima's sinister nature. Or rather, they showed it in pretty subtle way as how she can just order to kill denji if he didn't follow her orders. She treats him as a dog and may get killed if he doesn't follow her. Sure, he is scared of her at times leading him to wondering "Is makima a bad person?" But leaving every single of his worries after he is well treated . I re-read that chapter , and honestly it still doesn't give anything except your argument of it being "Denji being scared of makima and makima being ruthless". Because it's already established after aki's aggressive conversation, makima's threat and absolute order treatment. We see denji feeling the same fear and sourness when she sent denji to kill a devil as a dog , as same as she ordering him to "woof" and say "yes" when asked something as she wouldn't tolerate a "No" as an answer …because that's what dogs do, It's like complaining about how 20 deaths weren't recorded in a war documentary film. And going at it again, you answered it yourself why cucumber devil has purple blood. Because it's a CUCUMBER DEVIL. We saw that with tomato devil too, which gave orange blood .
